Loved the dreamcast hands one of my favorite consoles I've owned. Many great games with Shenmue being my favorite.

But Seaman is one those games that blew me away at the time. Obviously its cheesy by todays standards but back then all of it was new and exciting.

Soul Edge was the game before Soul Calibur.

It came out on PS1 under the name "Soul Blade".

;)

This is what I remember first playing it on,

I still keep my Dreamcast plugged in specifically to play NFL2k with friends. It's still the best NFL game even after all these years.

How does a Dreamcast look at on a 1080p monitor I know there are emulators out there.

As far as emulated on a 1080p TV it surprisingly looks pretty good. I replayed Shenmue 1 & 2 on nullDC on my 1080p TV a few years ago and I was impressed well it looked. It looked many of the dreamcast games in HD like the 360. When it came to the emulators there a few textures clipping issues here and there but was playable and enjoyable.

I do miss the magic of the Dreamcast. I carried around those memory cards everywhere to play those little games.

Soul Calibur, Grandia II, & Phantasy Star Online have been mentioned, all rather good games. One that I don't see listed yet that I really enjoyed was Record of Lodoss War.

The Dreamcast is the one and only console for me.

The most fun I've ever had with a console and it still holds the record for the most games I ever had on a console. During it's short lived one year life span, me and my brother managed a library of about 32 games. Most of them from that list too.

I actually did take my launch day Dreamcast over to my cousin's recently for some Power Stone action. The thing is still kicking it after almost 18 years.

I picked up my first Dreamcast on launch day (9/9/99). Only time I've ever done that.

So worth it!

Remember at the very end when you could get a new system for $50??

I picked up 3 at Best Buy without even thinking about it.

only issue i have with my original 9/9/99 launch dreamcast is that the internal battery drains if i don't use it for long periods of time and i have to keep it plugged in for a few hours till it charges back up and i can reset the system date/time to initiate it.

Soul Calibur is still the only fighting game i have ever 100%'d

When i went to college in '01 and found out i could just burn roms to cd's and run them on the console allowed me to play the entire library that fit on discs back then considering I was a poor college student.

I recently downloaded the whole entire TOSEC collection, so it'll be great to use any of the disc images with an emulator. What's the best Dreamcast emulator (& any associated plugins if needed) for Windows?
I'm pretty sure were not allowed to talk about it(its technically piracy). so google is your friend there.

Emulators aren't allowed here? That's news...
Dafuq?

You just said you downloaded the entire ______ (redacted in case of future mod) collection, and you're too fucking lazy to Google what emulator will allow you to play said FREE ROMs which you in no way legally obtained?

No Fire Pro D on that list? Rubbish! I remember ordering a copy from Play-Asia back in the day and making a boot disc to play this with friends.

Grandia II

Skies of Arcadia
I loved grandia 2 but those random encounters in skies of Arcadia made me want to cut myself. Skies was a little over rated I think but I liked it despite its random encounters.

Shame on you! lol

I was working at CompUSA when DC went under. Let's just say I RAPED the bargain bin before they opened the day all game prices were slashed by 70+%.

I snagged at least a dozen games that day heh.

Def a "Christmas morning" type moment :)
