Who is worthy of this honor?

To nominate someone, you must give at least a brief reasoning behind why they should be nominated.

More rules and policies are below.

Nominate the best and the brightest!

From the [H]ard|DCer of the Month - FAQ and [H]all of fame:

Q: What is the [H]ard|DCer of the Month?

Every month, the team gets a chance to choose someone they thought contributed greatly to the team, and give them a bit of recognition for it. At the begining of each month, a nomination thread is held. Here is your chance to nominate whoever you think deserves recognition. Someone can be nominated for any reason. It does not matter if they designed some massive piece of software to help the team in some way, or simply added a few boxen to ramp up their production.

Q: How do things work?

Nominations are held for 10 days starting on the 1st of each month. The nominated people move onto a poll and the Poll will be open for 10 days following the end of the nomination thread. The remaining part of the month is reserved for congratulating the winner and have fun. Same as before, vote for whoever you want, for whatever reaons you want. If there is a tie, a runoff will be held. After the winner is chosen, they are interviewed so the entire team can see what makes them tick.

For the [H]ard|DCer of the Year, there is no nominations thread because the only worthy candidates is the [H]ard|DCer of the Month winners for the current year. The poll to choose a winner is done in 2 steps : The first poll will include all 12 winners for the current year and we select only the best 4 winners which will participate in the next round. If there is a tie in the first 4 ranks, the tie winners will move together. In the second round, the one with the most votes will be declared the winner but if there is a tie, a runoff vote will be held. Each step will last 10 days.

Q: What does the winner get as prize?

Being that there is no cash flow funding the [H]ard|DCer award, there is only so much we can do in the way of prizes The [H]|DCers do not have a physical prize, but thanks to Kyle and the rest of the gang, we still have something to give winners. All winners will receive a custom title showing off their achievement.

Q: Are there any rules for this?

To nominate someone, you must give at least a brief reasoning behind why they should be nominated.

Past winners cannot be nominated until one full year after they last won.

You cannot nominate yourself.

Hard DCer of the Year winners are excluded forever.

Any contestation or question about the nomination thread should be done via PM.

I nominate Schmave for his shit talking earlier this month.

I think that nomination has been seconded in another forum, so I'll call thirds on the nom for Schmave!

I also wanna nominate tmossman01. Not sure if that's his forum name or not, but he is currently #6 in average PPD and has been ramping up his production over the last three months.

Also nominate ChelseaOilman

. Again not sure if that's his forum name or not. He's currently #1 daily production in both WCG and GPUGrid. He's also got some work done in F@H and other projects.

Guess I didn't fly low enough under the radar. Back in TX for the winter and have everything running to heat the house. :)

No you didn't. haha! Recently got a roommate and I've been working on moving some boxen around and into the garage to get the noise levels back to somewhat normal levels inside the house. So my WCG production has taken a huge hit. Then I am leaving for work in a few days and will be gone almost the entire month of Feb, then I'll be gone on a cruise the first two weeks of March. So my production is probably going to take a ~month stalemate and possibly even tank should they go offline for whatever reason.

When I get back though. It's on.

Noise, what's that? I'm one of the original F@H members on this team 16 years ago. I'm numb to fan noise. I spread my collection of computers around the house so I can enjoy the hum. My 4P Opteron server is sitting on a table in my kitchen. :)

Oh the noise doesn't bother me at all. I've been folding for a really, really long time as well. Just recently joined [H] as the communities I folded for well folded. She says the noise doesn't bother her either, but I think she's just trying to be nice. So I moved a few of them out into the garage not just because of the noise but I needed to spread the load on some other circuits. Her first night taking a shower here she flipped a breaker half my boxen was operating on. Took me a few hours to get everything back online. So I got most of them on their own circuit in the garage now. Just gotta rebuild the 4P rigs I have.

My 4P AMD is sitting on two other cases, with another two in front of it to hold the two PSUs (one for the CPUs, one for the GPUs). Ironically, the two cases that it's sitting on are running a 750 Ti and a 1050. The other two (four identical units) are waiting for the 1060s to get just a bit cheaper. And I've got two other boxes waiting for 1080 Ti cards. Luckily, I have an office at the moment that has a dedicated air conditioner and I don't pay the power bill. All good things must come to an end, though, and I think I've only got a few months left there before moving my rigs back home. At least at home they can heat my house for the winter, but then it's video card sale time in the Spring.
