Recently got anuvision tablet with win 10 on it and wondering how can I connect it to my pc to access files? This is my first tablet and I figured it was plug and play like my Samsung s5 but it's not. Whenever i plug it into my pc via USB it does not show up on my pc. I want to use the tablet to transfer or play files from my pc and vice versa to transfer files from tablet to pc. Appreciate the help.

I think you'll need a USB OTG cable. Can you use WiFi Direct or Windows Homegroup to transfer files instead?

I do have an otg cable! I will try that. But if I want to transfer files via WI fi how would I do that between the pc and tablet? Thanks for the reply

Your right a regular usb would not work. Very odd that a tablet cannot connect to a pc like a phone can....I will try the home group was hoping it was just plug and play

It has windows 10. Treat it like a full blown PC. I don't think a PC can recognize another PC via USB like that. This would require setting up windows share directories or similar.

If you're using the same Windows live account, you can transfer via OneDrive.

I got ya gook. However is it possible to set the tablet and pc up on a network and share/access files this way? I do have sum Asus share software but never could get it to work lol

Best way is setting up the home group as described above (follow the link). Then share a directory on the tablet and/or the PC. Then it is a matter of drag n drop the files.

Now they are called OTG cables? I remember back on the days these were called (USB) Data cables to differ from USB charge-only cables.... well I guess OTG is more modern name for the same cable like sataii vs sataiii cable lol. If your tablet has dual boot you could boot in Android and share files with pc, but not in this case... Anyway it is strange that Microsoft don't think about adding support for Windows running on a tablet the possibility to connect it to the pc as Mass Storage device...
