Anyone happen to have a dual or quad core 775 cpu sitting around? Lookin to upgrade a friend's kids rig.

A while back I posted some RAM sticks, only one of them was claimed, so I'm posting this again:

Kingston KTC-G2/2048 ECC RAM kit (2x1GB, details here): Free, just pay shipping. Untested.

I'm in need of a small hard drive (100 GBish, SATA preferred but I can work with IDE) and maybe a CPU cooler that's compatible with an Athlon 64 X2 5000+ Black Edition - I'm refurbishing my older PC and turning it into a VHS capture station, I need to upgrade the cooler since my old rig always overheated and I need the small HD to install Win XP on.

If you can help out, I'd appreciate it. :)

Edit: I might have an HDD already, yay! Thanks folks. The RAM's still available, I'll add more stuff later in the week.

Foxhack, you want a 3.5" internal SATA drive? If so I may have something. I know others here do/will, too.

I already got a PM asking for info, but I'd prefer a SATA one - this is a really old motherboard so it supports both. Thanks. :)

I have several older 775 dual cores, but in all honesty, you can pick up an E8400 on fleabay for $5 or less.

You'll want to check compatibility first though, not all 775 boards supported all 775 CPUs. The 945 and 965 chipsets topped out at E6700/E4300 (depending on BIOS support) and older 865/915 chipsets only supported Pentium 4s / Pentium Ds. If it's a P35 or newer, it will support most Core 2 based CPUs but not Netburst.

There were a few oddballs out there like the Asus P5GC-MX/1333 which used black magic to force an i945 to run E7xxx/E8xxx CPUs. I can't vouch for stability of these boards because it's overclocking the chipset 25%.

anyone got a bunch of power cords they are looking to part with for the cost of shipping? Just realized i ran out. shocking, i know..

I have a I3-540 cpu to give away I was going to trade for a ssd but didn't realize it was worth so little so if you want it just pay for shipping. CPU is Gone

I'm looking for a replacement sata power cable for an XFX XTR 650 PSU. I have no idea if other manufacturer modular cables are compatible, my Corsair definitely is not compatible.

The issue is I need something flat becaue my SSD is mounted at the bottom of my ITX case, but any compatible cable would be appreciated. Even an amazon link would help. I tried cablemod, but they don't shit for a month or more.

This would be ideal, but any cable would be better than none.

Damn, they must be really constipated!

I guess I use shit so often my phone autocorrected. Small price to pay for making sure I use shit when necessary.

Haha, I totally get it. I thought it was funny. Now excuse me while I go take a ship. :p

2nd Gen i3's are something people are giving away now?

Rats, if you had a desktop 2nd gen i3 I'd totally be up for it :)

2nd gen i series are like 6 years old now.. but ... yeah.. anything after first generation is still a very capable CPU

I'm still looking for some DDR2 if anyone has some. I have some PCs I need to get rid of but I want to make the useable if I'm going to give them away.

Also, if anyone has a video card that is compatible with Windows 10 (drivers are actually available) I'd be interested. I'd prefer something low power but I won't be picky.

You might check if NobleX13's 8400GS is still available. Several posts up.

I may have about 6 or so 1gb sticks.
If you want them lmk and ill double check how many i have.

I don't know. I know when I go to nvidia's site and do a manual search when you choose the 8400GS it shows 7 and 8.1 but no 10.

Well, if you click the above link and then click the Supported Products tab, the 8400 GS is listed.

I would find it very hard to believe that the 8400 GS isn't supported in Windows 10, either by official legacy Nvidia drivers or the more "generic" ones available via Windows update.

Either way, good luck..

"low end" six years ago, and still selling for $35 on ebay. If you needed any more proof of the stagnation in the CPU industry, there it is! :p
