NVIDIA's CES 2017 Keynote Live From Las Vegas

So their first and most important announcement is that you can stream directly to facebook? I turned off the stream after that.

I don't consider esport players as real gamers anyway. I'm not a fan of this brave new world where gaming is fuelled by competitive and multiplayer games. To me gaming is about single player campaigns. And looking at amazing visuals, not about getting that 150th frame per second, to beat bobby who only gets 149 frames per sec in whatever moba they're playing. I don't even know what moba means, it's just something I hear thrown about when people mention esports.

Yes, I was there, and the two in Dallas also. Always had a great time coming to those. I imagine there is a lot of logistics involved to be able to put on one of these though.....
Great part of that 780 launch was that the particular TigerDirect is only a mile from both work and home :)

Yeah....The idea has become the institution. MOBA stands for Multiplayer Online Battle Arena, not that you cared anyway lol

I went there with a couple of friends, it wasn't quite that close for us. I almost had a winning ticket despite one of the numbers being off, my friends wife won one of the 780's. I think I still have the ticket somewhere lol. I did however win something at the other two previous events, a 120GB Patriot Pyro SSD which I'm still using and a Radeon 6870 that I won in the first event TF2 contest, my Dad was using it for forever to play WoW until I retired it with a 1060 this Christmas.

Man....screw CES, we need to get some [H]ardforum events going again!

I totally agree!

I started going to shows before they were CES with my dad in the early 80's. Saw really cool stuff around the time when Atari/Apple/TRS/IBM were dominating the first home computer markets(and shortly after Commodore). It was magical. I got to see pre-existing company's truly reaching a new level alongside home computers that really were built at home. Now it feels more like fluff pieces. The only things that have seemed remotely interesting are the 3 display razer concept and the semi-holographic desktop projector setup. Seriously. . . .a 1050tiwtf!

Didn't happen to see Cardiff Electric's Giant, did you?

Not sure. I was around 9 or 10 and the shows we went to were in the DC area. They were often in large warehouse sized convention spaces. I do remember seeing TRS 80'd model II/III's, Apple II/IIe's, an assortment of self built PC's w/ monochrome(green) screens and even a couple and a couple with small color screens. Of course IBM was there and I think maybe a PCjr prototype. I knew different people who owned either TRS's or Apple so I paid close attention to their specs. There really was a lot to see but I don't remember them specifically. I did a quick search and saw the association with IBM so its possible.

I remember paying a lot of attention to the Atari booth, who at the time was heavily investing in personal computing. At the time I had a Atari 400 that we modded, bought a 32kit that came with a 16k board you soldered onto it to get 48k. I later swapped out the PIA touch keyboard for a mechanical. I went through the evolution from cassette to floppy single sided/double sided/double density disks. By the time it really was truly obsolete the first 8086's were cropping up.

the new shield tv looks awesome! i can't wait to play hl2 again!

It looks like it's the same exact hardware as the previous Shield TV.

Except they removed the microSD slot.

Nvidia really is turning into Apple.

That was pure sarcasm. It's a no go for me. Where's pascal? I was hoping for an awesome little dolphin emulator/streamer to take on work trips. I also don't understand the why they went with the big.little cpu configuration. Seems like they should have gone with A73 not the A57 and just left out the A53 cores considering this isn't a cell phone. Ram is so cheap these days, 3 gigs is pathetic.

I don't know what the heck they're thinking but there was even a rumor that the Switch might be Maxwell also.

Other than their auto test platforms, it seems like they have no Pascal-based Tegras.

Why does it feel like the "new" Shield is basically b-stock of the last-gen Shield console?
