GTX 780 Ti in 2016: Benchmark vs. GTX 1080, 1070, RX 480, More

Kepler has not aged all that well. Glad I traded my 2x 780s for 2x 290 @ 290Xs awhile back.
Oddly enough, I own a few 780s again (used in spare gaming rigs), but only because the price was right (~$50 each from CL) :)

Was going to try and squeak by with a Titan Black I had sitting around until I read this article.

$2000 later, a new rig just to support a spoiled kid's VIVE for Christmas (the original present). Yeah, thanks -_-

My my, Kepler literally sucks in some games going down to 1050ti level of performance. And I vividly remember how it was on par with 980 when it was just released.

Definitely time to upgrade my 780Ti SLI.

Waiting to see what the 1080Ti brings before I make a decision though.

Same here, either the Ti will be awesome and hopefully not horrifically priced, or it's release will mean a drop in price on the 1080 - either way it will be a nice upgrade. 780Ti SLI has stood me in good stead these last few years, but it is struggling at 1440p @ 144Hz....!

Are you thinking single or SLI 1080Ti?

I hear a lot of shit about SLI but, generally speaking, it has worked well for me. Sure I may end up waiting a driver rev. for a profile but on the whole it's been ok.

My GTX 780 Ti is still going strong at 1080p and maxing out all my games but I'm eyeing the 1080 Ti next month.

I'm currently running my 780. It's still handling 1080p quite well but these 10xx cards giving me the itch to upgrade. If I bought a card now and paid what I originally paid for my 780 I could get a 1070. So tempting but I'll give my 780 another year.

Still chugging along with my 780 longest I've ever kept a video card over 3.5 years now I think. I don't game like I used but it still handles everything well I play which is 99% dark souls series for 2 years now.

Guys, Nvidia cards have better resale value. They age really well.

It's not like AMD, who don't support their cards after the next series comes out...

Dumped my 780 as soon as the 970 was released. Haven't looked back, and I don't regret it. Then I dumped my 970 as soon as the 1070's came out. Again a good decision.

The 780ti did not age well, but even worse was the 780 aging which came out a out 6 months before the ti.

Got a friend of mine that still has a 780ti as a back-up. Also a brand new still in the box 670. He'd rather dump the 670 than to part with his beloved 780ti, lol.

I still have my SLI 780 MSI Lightnings in my system and they kick ass. Both have a +330Mhz OC and I am running them at 3440x1440. They do well in BF4 on Ultra, BF1 on high as well as Project Cars, Doom and Fallout. They handle everything that I play, but are definitely close to their limit.
