For two weeks Best Buy was selling the 32 GB Moto X Pure for $399 ($50 less than Motorola). The price has since returned to $449.

Then, on the 23rd of March they started selling the 64 GB Moto X Pure for $399 ($100 less than Motorola). I couldn't resist buying the 64 GB for that price and purchased it that day in one of their stores. Unexpectedly, it was a one day sale and the price returned to $499.

The phones have a black soft grip back and black frame, plus silver accents, and they look quite handsome. They are being boxed with a Turbo Charger and Android 5.1. Connecting the phone to WiFI (without a sim) updated it to Marshmallow 6.0 .

While still a good phone and worth considering at this price, I think I'd rather go for a 64GB/4GB RAM G4 Plus at this price range. Mostly because it's newer, so it already has Nougat and will have a longer life cycle from now. The X Pure hasn't had an update since August last I saw and Nougat will surely be its last update after its long overdue OTA arrives. But the fingerprint scanner and much better battery life on the G4 Plus are nice pros too. The only thing I'd miss from the X Pure are the stereo speakers on the front, since the newer Moto phones only have one front firing speaker. Though the speaker on my wife's Z Play is pretty decent too, it just don't compare much to the stereo speakers on the X Pure or my 6Ps.

Those are some great deals. Motorola phones are the best. Had the Droid Maxx for like 3 years and it still worked as brand new.

So my Verizon contact ended a couple months ago. So I ended up getting the Moto Z Play Droid at the Verizon store., it has the interchangeable covers (pretty sweet), the display on it is outstanding.

Verizon/Droid had a special they gave me $100 trade in for my old phone. Paid $200 for the phone with a 2 year contact.

Doesn't look like Amazon has any stock, unless you want to buy a used phone from their warehouse. All the sellers listed are third party.

Interesting. Wonder if they sold out that quick. It was showing as sold+shipped by Amazon when I posted.

Amazon replenished their stock of the 64GB and lowered the price further to $319.54

True, thanks for pointing that out and I for one do prefer sales sold directly by Amazon.

I asked online Best Buy if they would price match that $319.54 price both online and in a local store.
The customer service rep replied, "Yes definitely they would do price match also in store and since item is eligible also based on what I have checked here".

Owning the MXPE, I would have to lean in favor of it over the G4+ for now. I've tried the latter in-store and the screen quality seemed substantially worse - downright cheapy, honestly - which is hard to look past. But the point about updates is well taken. We're supposed to get Nougat on the MXPE, but I wouldn't be shocked if it never materializes - I have no faith in Lenovo going forward. The history of the Moto G series is not too kind on updates either, though, and I'd be surprised if the G4 ever receives O.
