I bought the A6300 at B&H two weeks ago when they were only offering $100 gift card, now they are offering $200. I contacted B&H and they offered to send me the other $100 gift card in email so that's good customer service. Used the gift card to buy a fluid video head. But you can use the card to get many more accessories (definitely get extra batteries) or maybe some lens for it as well. Although the kit lens is already excellent for general use and travel.

Compare this with my D750 and D500... A6300 is small, is super quick with its state of the art AF system, and the RAW files out of the A6300 is really excellent in terms of noise control and color rendition. The 4K output also outperforms D500, with plenty of advanced control options. Only downside is the battery life is fairly short and the menu system is a pain in the butt... But if you put it on Auto most of the time, the menu won't be a problem.

The $200 gift card is valid for both body or with the kit lens purchase.

B&H A6300 Body only
Adorama A6300 Body only

Adorama A6300 w/Kit lens

This is an excellent camera for still photos or for 4k Video. You can also get a $20 converter to put your Canon or Nikon lens on this camera. With focus peaking manual focus is truly a joy to use.

Below is a short video I've made showing A6300 with the Nikon converter I've mentioned and bunch of my Nikon lens in action.

I'm seriously thinking of replacing my Nikon with Sony setup when it's time to upgrade my gears in a few years or so.

Not a bad deal, I picked up a a6000 two years ago, for like $450 at Christmas time. Once I got a few fast(ish) primes for it I pretty much only use the Sony. My canon bodies are pretty much book ends. I sold canon 24-70 to fund all my e-mount lenses..

The a6300 seems like a solid camera. The price seems high even with the 200$ GC but I guess they can get away with it because of how good it is and how well the a6000 did.

I played with A6000 for a few weeks last month and really loved it (except the menu...) and I was looking for a 4k camera with good control options and sharpness, that's why I jumped on the A6300. The A6000 produced some great 1080p footage as well. So if you don't care much about 4k the A6000 is still very capable.

If you think the A6300 is pricey, look at the A6500, camera body only is already $1400, and the only thing they added is a touch screen for focusing, and worse battery life than A6300... I think I'll pass on the A6500 and wait for the next gen.

Yea Sony menus are garbage for sure. Battery like on most(all?) mirror less is crap as well

I have the excellent Panasonic GH3 with a 20mm 1.7 lens. Love it, excellent performance but I want to upgrade. I love high performance small cameras.

There you go.. Perfect time to upgrade if image quality is what you are after. I used to own a Panasonic GF3, while I like the overall controls and the compactness of the Panasonic, the Micro 4/3 produced some less than ideal high iso shots... So I sold it. The A6300 performs really well in low light

Yeah I saw the TCS review and sounds like the touch-screen is still very half-assed on the 6500 - certainly not up to m43 standards anyway.
What lens are you using lifanus? I agree m43 really struggles in low-light action (motion), but obviously for landscapes it's less an issue. M43 still represents the largest/heaviest I'll go when I travel.

I bought an adapter w/AF for Canon lens. AF is fine for still subjects but it is super slow so it is bad for anything that is moving.
