How does your company manage their fleet of Ipads ?

We are going to have 80 Ipads that have to be used by our salespeople. How are companies managing them ?

Ex:
do the employees create their own apple id, then do a master reset when the employee leaves ?
do companies let employees buy the Ipads on resignation, according to how long they have been at the company ?
how do companies deal with damaged ipads ? who takes them to the apple store to get repaired ?
who keeps track of who has which ipad ?
 
we did the MDM when we used to provide company phones. we want to stay away from another MDM.
 
Been trying to figure out the same thing since switching to ipads/iphones. So far everyone is on their own apple id

MDM and buy them directly from Apple. They let you import the serial numbers into the MDM automatically.

It's usually best to use something like Apple Configurator to get your wi-fi profiles loaded, then let your MDM take over.
