I have been playing with pfsense on a MSI u100 netbook and a usb ethernet adapter for some time to feed my network. Recently I picked up a Zotac Zbox CI323 Nano to be used as my Pfsense box. It has been given some really good reviews from what I have seen and the wireless I am going to take out and have a 32gb SSD that will be taking its place and will be where the OS is installed. Is there a way to use part of that 32gb that is also the OS drive for proxy cache or should I just go ahead and do the sata3 drive and leave the OS drive alone?

I was thinking 32gb with a 10gb partition or so for the OS and the rest for Caching

Keep in mind that using any form of flash for pfsense may greatly degrade it over time as pfsense has a lot of logging and stuff. Basically lots of small disk writes. But if you're using flash cards then it's probably not a big deal to have multiple spares and just image one to the other so when one dies you can just pop the other one in then just need to restore config to latest.

You can limit those write is you use the RAMdisk feature and only write to the disk once a day.
