8 Minutes of Prey Gameplay Footage

it looks great to be honest but lets just hope for a good pc port cause lately a lot of games been horrible in that area

Looks good. Though why not make a new I.P.? Does not look related to the other Prey at all.

Completely sold. Call it Prey, call it Guy Surviving Alien Attack on Space Station, I really don't care. Looking forward to this. Looks amazing so far.

I loved the original, and did very much appreciate the different approach to the usual game structure, character type, and introduction of portals, but that doesn't have to detract from this new game in any way. The studio that made the original is pretty much non-existent now, so there's no choice but to move on.

Interesting game I should be ready for it when it goes to steam sale. I am done paying big bucks for games I am now a patient bargin bin shopper. I will say that I am not overly impresse with the monsters, they feel like they would be great in Dungeons and Dragons

Seems like Bioshock in space for me so far...

That was my 1st thought also, I loved Bioshock but this game is just looking "meh" for me.

The mimic ability looks stupid IMO. Cant get past a monster? pretend to be a cup and bounce yourself on by.

To me it looked more like Dishonored (in visual style), which is not surprising as it is the same studio.

This whole "Prey in name only" thing is interesting to me, because that's how I view the 2006 game. There was a Prey before that game which sounded amazing and different (there was a write up in a very old PC-gamer). I remember it had aliens that would hunt you, and there was a lot of talk about the AI for them being relatively complex compared to other games at that time. And that game never got made. The 2006 prey felt like just another FPS to me.

Looks like a mix of Bioshock and Deus Ex to me. I might be interested down the road.

I agree. Demos and movies may not be an indication of the final product quality (and story if any). Fingers crossed and hope for the best...

I thought Human Head was working on this one. Not anymore it seems :/

According to wikipedia, these are the same guy who worked with Valve on that SP/MP hybrid The Crossing. Have a feeling Viktor Antonov, the guy who created Half-Life 2, brought these guys to Bethesda. Not a bad move really.

I'm excited about this game. Love what I am seeing, especially the various abilities.

So it seems like Doom but with a less gore. And slightly more interesting weapons. That can be a good thing, as Doom felt far too repetitive and was relatively dull.

How does a 6'2" 200 pound person transform into a 15 ounce cup? I don't get it.

has that deus ex look to it as well.

Doom 3 remake? to scare you? Don't need that with my pace maker. LOL

Correct, Arkane is doing this one (Dishonored series, Dark Messiah, etc.)

Hehe, everyone's comments keep saying things like "Bioshock, Dead Space, Deus Ex" etc. etc. So basically that all boils down to it being like System Shock. :p System Shock (and System Shock 2) were basically the first games to define the first person cyber-punkish, stranded in space, survival horror genre. This game looks like it's following that precisely, which means they can't really go wrong. I read somewhere that Arkane wanted to make a System Shock style game, then they got the Prey property, so here we are. With this, the System Shock HD remake, and System Shock 3 sometime in the future, I'm a very happy camper.
