Cyber Monday Is Now Pretty Pointless

Yesterday should have been called Cyber Junkday... everything was junk. Chinese knock offs, nothing useful, stuff that never sold, stuff people don't generally want.

Only thing I bought this BF/CM was that Best Buy 8TB drive for $144.

Couldn't beat that price, and although Seagate, at least has a 2-yr warranty.

Raise the price gradually by 20-30% over the past few weeks. Then offer 10-20% discount from the inflated price under the guise of black friday.

At least that's what retailers do here.

The only "Cyber Monday" deals I got were a handful of 4K UHD Blu Rays that i'll be able to use with my new Xbox One S i'm getting today. But yes, overall Cyber Monday is pointless. Every day there seemed to be a better Xbox One S deal coming out the week leading into Cyber Monday and I just had to decide on what and stick with it. lol

I got a Fitbit Charge 2 for $40 off on Amazon on Cyber Monday, also an Anova Sous Vide for $126 (normally $200). They were both things that I was specifically looking for though, so I was pleased when I saw the price drop.

I think just the amount of stuff is overwhelming to search for deals online. Amazon had 312 pages of "Lightning Deals" compared to their normal 20-30, and it's not like you can quickly scan the shelves like you can in a store. I think as long as you go in with a specific product in mind (store or online) then you'll find your good deals.

Also, CamelCamelCamel is boss :)

all these idiots who tried to steal from the stores or from others during this black Friday craziness in some areas, should be ashamed of themselves, yet their boss should fired them. Worst than kids. Its called, be calm, wait in line like everybody else and don't push.

My daughter is getting married on Jan 4th in Florida. With all of that expense, my and my wife are not buying anything for Xmas period.

I tend to buy what I want throughout the year anyway. So I don't need a holiday to buy myself something.

This. I get what I want/need when I want/need it generally. The sorts of things that I want, I would feel bad asking for anyway since they're typically bigger ticket items.
