Is iOS 10.1.1 Draining iPhone Batteries?

It seems as though a lot of people are having issues with their iPhone batteries after updating their phones to iOS 10.1.1. Have any of you ran into this battery draining bug?

The issue stems from how quickly the battery is draining coupled with the battery percentage readout no longer being accurate. For example, a battery with 80 percent charge left unused overnight is empty the following morning. Plugging it in reports 30 percent charge after a few seconds. However, unplugging when it says 100 percent sees the figure drop below 50 percent as soon as you unlock the iPhone.

Pretty much every phone I've ever owned has had a similar "bug" after 6 months or especially after a numbered OS update.

Never had this problem with any of my android phones. Must be another apple "feature"

My 7 Plus battery life is outstanding with none of the problems described. Been running 10.1.1 since it was released.

It's not a big, it's a fun feature called "guess you're battery level!" Your just playing it wrong.

Have never had any issue like this with my iPhone 5s, do not have it now with 10.1.1.

Don't have the issue, but every time I upgraded any of my android phones I couldn't go for more than 4 hours before there was an emergency hotfix... One of the reasons I ended up hating my Note 3. Thanks Samsung

Heh it's always fun to see the apple haters yap every chance they get. Too bad you can't afford one...

No it's charging it what else should it do if not drain it?

A bone for the troll:
My phone cost more than the actual iphone when I purchased it.

Never had this issue on a single phone, Apple or other wise.

Apple hate is there, and many times for good reason. However this elitist attitude like in your post is the main reason people hate on it, because of its users.

Side note, I don't have to afford one, my work supplies them free of charge.

My iphone 6+ had some weird battery numbers right after the upgrade, but is fine now. I think the phones just lost their battery calibration data and had to relearn the batteries for proper feedback.

I've had no problem with my 5S after the upgrade. No odd issues with the battery percentage, and it seems to run just as long as it always has, I never recorded how far it got down at the end of the day after a typical day but I've not noticed it being any lower than it usually was.

Pretty much, doesn't sound like battery drain, rather incorrect battery percentage.

Lol way to roast Boonies dumb and false remark.

One of the reasons why I do my iOS update in September each year, for the final fixed/optimized version before the new iOS is released.

It's not that I can't afford it, it's just that I refuse the pay the "Apple" tax.
I have no need to show off the latest trendy/flashy/shiny gadgets to fit in.

I would rather pay half the price (or less) for a phone that does everything I need it to.
Same reason I drive a Toyota. Great car, decent price, and I don't care about the lack of "flash".

Funny enough, my work Android gets used 1/5th of the amount my personal iphones do, and have about 1/2 the battery life.

That is a pretty nifty iPhone feature if you ask me.

The car analogy isnt that great because some people spend more on cars because they like cars and the act of driving them. If i didnt care about cars and only really drove because i have to and not because its a hobby then i would get a prius or civc too. Also its not about paying more for the same. You pay more to do those same task faster and better. Show me a phone that is comparable to the iphone 7 specs that is half the cost yet just as fast.

The analogy not only "isn't that great," but rather silly (and easily disprovable). iPhones and Android-based phones cost the same MSRP (unless we're talking about some budget/junk phone) but drop in value so fast that you can get Android-based phones with BOGO deals and a fraction of the cost on the used market. Neither of those are resounding accolades for a device that shares an MSRP with an Apple device for a few months.

If I were to bother carrying his analogy any further, we'd have to recognize that the Toyota is to Apple as Yugo or Pinto is to Android where the Toyota does what it needs to without a bunch of user intervention and retains its value over time because owners recognize it as reliable. People bought the Yugo or Pinto because they were price conscious (usually a polite way of saying cheap or poor), maybe not necessarily because they *had* to buy at the bottom of the barrel but cost was the driving reason.

You mean at the same rate the s7 and note do? because those are the same exact price as an iphone.
Android folks can't be bothered with those kinds of facts. Those go against their narrative, so they just choose to ignore them.
