Call of Duty Infinite Warfare

MW Remastered is completely messed up for me, multiplayer is like a paranormal experience. I was playing Ambush, guy was hiding behind one of them concrete dividers, only his helmet sticking out. I'm shooting at him nothing happens, then i dropped dead. Kill cam shows that he got up and shot me and went back down, but on my screen he was just sitting there hiding. Other times i'm looking at the minimap, enemies are coming my way i wait for them aiming they run in and kill me even though i was shooting first. On their screen is other way around. Stuff like that happens every single match. I'd be ok with this if i still had AOL dial up from decades ago but this shit makes no sense at all.
Game runs smooth as butter no hitching or problems of any kind it's just this fucking lag is making me crazy i can't seem to win 1 on 1 firefight no matter what.

The lag comp nonsense and just generally bad matchmaking in MW really pisses me off. I see getting shot even when I never saw the guy coming from the FUCKING FRONT!

Unfortunately I didn't bother with the PC release of MWR. I got the bundle for my PS4 because I figured the player base would last longer and I have a feeling the PC port would be crap. Besides, COD4 runs beautifully on PC so I figured I could also just reinstall it there if I wanted to experience it on PC again. Something tells me after playing the remaster that COD4 at 4K looks way better than the remaster anyways.

I tried to play the Multiplayer portion of the game on PC, and I was stuck in the Lobby for a long time, without any game commencing, so I finally gave up.

What gives?

Also why the game engine for IW list listed at TBA?

3 Game engines

IW is probably weary of giving details about the game engine after the endless memes that were made about Ghosts. Infinite Warfare probably is using an updated version of the Ghosts engine.

What a freaking mess... Sales are tanking with each new release, i guess Activision predicted this, that's why they bundled MWR with IW. I'm curious to see what will happen next year with SledgeHammer and their game. If it's Advanced Warfare 2 they are in deep, deep shit, although there are rumors going around that they are working on Vietnam era game. I'm guessing Treyarch are working hard on that World at War 2 right about now ... No more Sci-Fi, market has spoken, back to boots on the ground.

On the other hand, why didn't EA make BF2142 sequel instead of BF4 back then, now i'll never get to see 2143

i've only skipped one game in the series, Ghosts, and now Infinite Warfare will make it two games i've skipped. the player base in Black Ops 3 fell off so quickly it made me hesitant to buy this one. gameplay videos of Infinite Warfare sealed the deal for me since it looks pretty stale. MWR was *almost* enough to get me to buy this game but truthfully i don't expect the player base for that to stick around very long either. hats off to people that are having fun with these games though, no hate intended.

that could earn my money. i had a blast in Black Ops 1.

They did Vietnam in Black Ops. I'd rather see something take place during the Gulf War era or even more recently with Iraqi Freedom.

I have not checked the Steam again, to see if the Modern Warfare Remastered is available as a 'stand-alone' downloadable purchase or not, but:

Being a 'physical-copy' kind of gamer (and collector of all COD games on DISCs), I guess I did a booboo this time, I think I should have gotten the physical copy of the game for $59.99, and then buy the MW Remaster, later as a digital download.

But instead, I downloaded the Digital Legacy Edition. :(

Modern warfare was a huge fail for me.. epic lag. game would take 10 mins to load the multi-player map everytime.. ??? crazy. graphics nice but the one map of played was hugely overrun by snippers. could not even move threw the map in team play without getting nailed every time.

Hopefully they fix the loading issues.

Played a couple of rounds this morning. Game should be called Infinite WarCrap. Just very average all around. Got also the best skill-less gun. The FH-40. Kills nubs in seconds.

People leave when they want, yet teams don't rebalance. Matchmaking is taking minutes sometimes up to 15 minutes before you are matched up with anyone. Can't join friends' games 9/10 times.

Hit level 15.

Yeah unfortunately the more you play the MP the more you see the flaws and good god after 15-20 hours they are just glaring. Fantastic campaign, though. Really wish it was doubled in length and I would have been less pissed about my monetary investment Lol

I'd have to admit that IW is really growing on me, I've finished the campaign but going back to play select missions and I'm actually impressed. Impressed is a big word as I have been disappointed with the recent iteration of the COD franchise like Advanced Warfare and Black Ops 3. IW is actually quite polished, the story and cutscenes are professionally done and the gameplay is actually quite frenetic and makes a good run-and-gun romp for quick bursts of FPS goodness. Mind you, after replaying missions I would also eat my words and say there is a discernable step-up in the graphics compared to the last few CODs.

I bought the Legacy edition because I wanted MW Remastered and saw IW as a bonus sci-fi "side game" but as it turned out both are gems to me now. I don't play multiplayer so what's most important to me is the campaign and to me, I find its length more than adequate. However, I still preferred that they get back to boots-on-the-ground gameplay in the next COD - if they can do a remaster of MW1, I'm sure they can do the same for World at War, although I would much preferred if they do a reboot rather than a remaster. And I also think its high time they switched to the Frostbite3 or Unreal4 engine.

I collected all the COD games (retailed box) since the first one and in hindsight perhaps I should have done the same for COD-IW Legacy Edition but I downloaded it instead. The only COD series I don't collect is the Black Ops series, having played BO1 and stopping at that. I rather be fighting as a soldier than some mercenary or black ops operative in largely civilian urban environments.

Honestly, finding an MP game is such a headache in this one. Such a small player base and no one is playing. Only some idiots that only like TDM. I hate that.

Took me 15 minutes to find a Domination group again and then it dismantled after 2 rounds.

Yeah I won't get 100 smacks worth out of this one

Same sentiment from me. I haven't purchased the last 2 CODs because of COD fatigue. IW looked interesting enough from what I had seen at E3/trailers/etc that I picked it up. The SP campaign was very good. Storytelling/acting/music was top notch. Worth a replay as well if you just wanted to blast through the main campaign and didnt finish all the side missions. I do play MP a bit as well and its really more of the same there, but thats not necessarily a bad thing.

Pretty much the same here, I went with the PS4 version. I try to give games a fair shot, but Activision really does keep deserve the hate they get with CoD.

The lag/lag compensation/whatever you want to call it is just terrible. Not Advanced Warfare terrible, at least for me, but I can't win a 1 vs 1 fight for the life of me. And if it's anything like previous CoDs, 4 bars would mean 100 ping, and the tick rate would be 20. I mean, seriously? It's no wonder during the morning I'm playing Europeans and during the evening I'm playing people in California. In my opinion, 100+ ping should be considered 1 bar. And 20? Battlefield 4 started with a terrible tick rate, and there was a lot of losing fights based on where you were not. They finally improved it. Why are all these first person shooters coming out with terrible tick rates? We're not living in 1995 anymore where the vast majority of people had dial up. And even games back in the 90s had tick rates of 60+. To be fair to people living in areas with terrible internet? So you punish the majority? I'm sorry, all things being equal other than internet, if you have terrible internet, you should do worse.

Preach it! I played on 60 tic servers 15 years ago on Counter-Strike 1.5 while I still had 56K dial up, FFS. Yes, there was lag, but at least you could actually learn to anticipate yours and other actions because the connection was consistent and fair. And I had pings in the 80-100ms range! I have no idea what the fuck is going on today in games with 20 ticrate and lag compensation, so there is no way to learn what the hell you need to adjust to get better in your gameplay.

My thoughts pretty much exactly with regard to CoD:IW. I hated the market saturation of WWII games back when the first CoD game hit. I enjoyed the first one but skipped everything in the series after that until CoD4:MW. That turned into one of my favorite games of all time. I enjoyed the fun yet brief single player game well enough but the multiplayer was truly amazing for me. Thanks to dumbass decisions like ditching dedicated servers, performance problems and a serious lack of evolution I've distanced myself from the series. I really bought CoD:IW for Modern Warfare remastered. CoD:IW has actually been a pleasant surprise. While I haven't gotten into the multiplayer yet, the single player game has been exceptionally enjoyable. I like the science fiction setting with its interesting and visually stunning environments. This was surprising given my initial reaction to a CoD in space wasn't positive. I really hated the quasi-science fiction elements in previous games like BLOPS III. Wall running and other shit just took the game too far from its roots for me to enjoy it.

I'm also a huge fan of the space combat / air combat missions in CoD:IW. Its a nice change of pace and keep things interesting. Its not a perfect game but it has more imagination and takes more chances with the formula than any game since CoD4:MW. I find that fitting since that game is bundled with CoD:IW.

I enjoyed the single player, pretty much hates the multiplayer. Modern warfare remastered didn't do much for me either.

Seems like the MP is really barebones this time. I am not finding enough attachments to unlock per gun. Where is the heat sensor? Is it there? I am level 16 and have guns that are level 10+ but no scope with heat sensor etc. Also I need my semi-auto sniper.

MWR MP sucks. Everyone is sniping and in some maps you can't even see where the fuck they are. Not to mention the lag comp bullshit and jittery play where even at 150 pings I can't hit worth crap. Thankfully, same doesn't happen in IW.

Damn shame. At this point getting it for SP seems like overpaying by a lot.

MP is black ops 3 with new guns & maps. It gets stale after a while.

I actually went to buy BO3 (at promo price) after finishing IW. Sad to say, the BO series seems to have consistently bad graphics compared to the run-of-the-mill annual COD refreshes, if I recall correctly they use a different game engine.. I don't know how to describe it, the environments just makes you feel you're playing a game with 'gamey' graphics. Just take MW-Remastered an an example, its based on a much older COD and yet it had more "realistic" graphics compared to all the BO series. I find the Battlefield (and even the short-lived MOH series) had more "believable" graphics than the BO series. Anyone noticed this? As such, COD-IW was a really refreshing change both in the graphics and gameplay department.

Anyone getting awful stuttering in the cutscenes? Smooth as butter in the actual game.

The Steam summer sale of $65 for the Infinite Warfare Digital Deluxe Edition, is a decent deal for a 7 month old Call of Duty game. Steam usually takes a few years to get that big a discount off the entire game.
You get the full versions of Infinite Warfare and Call of Duty Remastered plus the season pass for Infinite Warfare, which will give you an additional 16 multiplayer and 4 zombie maps. Both games have a good single player campaign and bot support for all the multiplayer games, so you can host a listen server with friends.

If you're like me and don't like having to rank up online, it works out better not having to waste your time with matchmaking, just to get all the weapons and perks, plus dealing with the excessive lag compensation.

If you do like ranking up online you'll have a very hard time finding games with matchmaking on the PC version, since there are only about 1500 peak players a day in Infinite Warfare and 500 peak players in Modern Warfare Remastered.
Black Ops 3 still has about 9000 peak players a day, so it's the best bet for Call of Duty Prestige whores.

I just picked up the game on sale for 7€. I thought it will worth that much at least, but I was wrong. This game is completely unplayable. And I don't mean because it so bad, because it's so slow. It's lagging, stuttering dropping frames. The fps varies wildly from 100 to 10 fps, regardless of the graphics settings. Lowering the settings only makes the game look crap, they do nothing to get rid of the performance issues. Sometimes my fps goes down or up by a magnitude in the same area, for no apparent reason.

I know the 980tI is nowhere near a new gpu, but I've never had any performance issues with any game before. Certainly not this bad. WTF?

I had some odd performance issues with the game when it first came out. One or two driver revisions later and it was fine.

980Ti shouldn’t have any issues with this game @1440p

So it turns out I had to uninstall my antivirus for it to work properly, disabling it wasn't even enough. Probably some intrusive copy protection at work, I've read on the net that numerous people had issues with all kinds of antivirus software interfering with the game.
