Electric Cars Must Make Noise By 2019

Zara winds with the woo WOOO reference. and you dont want to bike around a city anyway, several studies have shown that breathing deeper for longer around smog is less healthy than working in it :p

Noise and giant roll bars housing more Radar/Optical/RF/IR/Laser/WiFi gear than an AWACS. The roadway is going to be like a warzone.

Frist car i have that has this im cutting the power to it, i want my car to be as quiet as it can be and if i have a ev i don't want fake noise.

Dumb idea. Engine noise is a side effect, of power. Granted in many cars that sound is amazing. But having noise for the sake of noise is just plain stupid. As anyone who has had to live near a congested road or freeway can tell you, lessening that constant background hum and hissing would be a great thing for everyone. If you live like about 1/4 of a mile from a freeway you don't hear individual cars, just the accumulated sound of all cars.

If you are worried about hitting people because they cannot hear you coming, Don't worry, you can still aim for those fuckers with the earbuds in looking down at their phones.

I say keep them silent and let evolution sort it out. If you can't be bothered to pay attention around a road, I can't be bothered to feel sorry you got hit.

+1

i'm fucking sick and tired of concessions having to be made because other people are too fucking stupid to live

It's only at low speeds--like at parking lot speeds. They aren't active when you're driving down a main city street or freeway.
