My max budget is 400$ for this black Friday. I would like to get a 4k monitor that does 4:4:4 and can display small text without issue. I am not a big fan of scaling and have good eyes. I would just like to read text all in it's small non scaled glory on my desktop. Though I am not going to game in 4k, I would if I can do it in 4:4:4. 1080p gaming would be fine too if it has the mode/capability.

Is there any must have deals @ 400$ for black Friday? I am thinking of a 40inch tv if that is possible at my price range.

Thanks so much!

Saw the UN40KU6300 and wanted to know if it is an IPS monitor? Does it have any blurriness when looking at different viewing angles?

I think this may be the TV for me. I will be coming from a 37 inch 37LH30 1080p 4:4:4 TV. Thanks.

It is not IPS. It's one of the flavors of VA, so better contrast and no IPS glow.

I have one in front of me right now. The sweet spot is pretty large. I spend a lot of time slouching and don't notice any IQ loss.

It's a little slow, you can notice this scrolling black text on a white background, but seriously that's not a deal breaker. This thing looks GOOD.

There isn't a better deal on the market right now except for maybe it's baby brother, the KU6290, but I'm still waiting to hear reports about that one.

Ok to get 4:4:4 @ 4k 60fps and 4:4:4 @ 1080p 60 fps, what exactly do I need to do settings wise on my PC? I have Windows 10 64bit Pro with a 1080gtx. My current TV doesn't correctly pass a full chroma image. So I want to get everything that this new set can offer in image quality. I know this will be a really good upgrade. What settings do I need to apply on the TV and in windows/nvidia control panel? I will get a good HDMI cable, well I have one. So I can rule out any cable issues.

Thanks again!

Rename the input to DVI on the TV, turn off game mode, maybe some other shit I don't remember right now. I think you have to turn on UHD color or something similar, and possibly HDR mode. 4:4:4 output on the computer, use HDMI, connect to HDMI 1 on the TV. After that it's all about what settings on the TV (brightness, contrast, RGB channel values, etc) you find look best or calibrate for.

And make sure you pick up an 18gbs cable!

I had a "high speed" cable that would only get me 4:4:4 at 30hz.

Does the text look sharp at 4k? I don't want to use scaling at all. Will reading text at 4k with no scaling be an issue? I have pretty good eyes.

Anyone having problems with that?

If you are a Costco member, they are having the 40" KU6290 for $289.99 starting Friday. Largely the same as KU6300, different remote control.

No bluetooth as well which is not a factor for me. If this is indeed $289 Friday (Price has been removed from ad) I will be picking it up as early as possible.

Yeah, the Samsung KU6300 is the best to use as a monitor at that price.

I'm using it, it's really great. It can do 4:4:4 4K@60Hz (though only on 1 HDMI port). Lag is low. The only major issue is this ghosting thing, but it's only really noticeable on high contrast black on white layouts (for example, certain webpages). And the HDR support is lacking. But otherwise it's perfect.

At least on movies and games, I don't notice the ghosting at all. And many websites don't show it either (Hardforum looks fine), but certain pages you can see trails as you scroll. But I wouldn't call it a deal breaker, only a minor annoyance.

You can use it at 4K native, but I found things to be too small to be practical. At 150% scaling it ended up being sized similar to a 1440P screen (which I think it about perfect unless you have Superman vision).
