Holy shit this game is awesome. Looks amazing and plays well. Naughty Dog knows how to code. IMO, best looking game of this generation with a decent , fun story.

It is up there. I played all 4 of 'em in a row, that's the best way to do it! It does look really, really good for a console game. And when they put in the motion blur slider, it improved it quite a bit.

Same. Thinking about getting the Drake collection just to have it on the PS4. Normally I wouldn't bother with remakes, but this time I'm tempted. Fantastic time with this game.

My PS4 came with the collection, so I didn't have to buy it again so that was good, but I probably would of. I tried to replay UC1 on the PS3 and just couldn't. I'm glad they remade it, graphics were fine, but the controls were just clunky back then. The collection has better controls.

I'm a huge fan of all 5 games...even the Vita one. #2 is the best of the bunch, but both #1 and #3 have some great moments. #4's a great game, but the pacing is a little uneven. The storytelling is unmatched, though.
Playing #4 pained me when it was released (the motion blur hurt my eyes) but now you can remove that via a slider that was patched in a few months ago.
I'll be interested to see what the PS4 Pro does with the game. They've confirmed it definitely has HDR. Will be interesting to see if there is a 60fps or upscaled 4K option.

I loved my first playthrough. Will probably replay before too long.

I wonder what's next for Naughty Dog? Last of Us 2 or something else?

If they do a TLoU 2 I hope they use different protagonists.

I'd wager that there will be a Lost of Us 2 on the way sooner than later.
Considering how little of the world we saw in the first game, having a sequel with different characters/settings seems logical to me. Kind of like Fear the Walking Dead...only actually good.

Just played The Last of Us (remastered) for the first time. Fantastic game. Naughty Dog's story telling presentation is next level. I just hope they continue and wont make another genre instead of their narrative focus. Dat game engine though......

I've played thru the last of us probably 10 times across the difficulties and around 300 hours online. I'm about 2 hours into uncharted 4 and love it.

Naughty dog is by far my favorite game company. I love everything they make

I really can't think of any game looking better than Uncharted 4 regardless of platform. Bold statement, yes.

I finished UC4 about a month ago. Played all 5 including the Vita one. To me, the game is cool, but the gun play gets a little boring. Same rinse and repeat from UC1 all the way to UC4. I honestly was hurrying just to complete the about 75% of the way through. Don't get me wrong, graphically, its outstanding, but I enjoyed Tomb Raider's gun play more.

Another thing that gets silly is, from UC1 all the way to UC4, you discover a treasure clue that will lead you to the next clue, and the bad guys show up RIGHT at the moment you figure out where that clue will lead you to next. It's like... come on....

Anyone try out the new HDR functionality for Uncharted 4? I'm not really feeling it. It changes the way the game's lighting works, at least in the sunlight. While the sun and clouds look differently and work in new ways, the colors look more washed out in general. I was expecting some "pop" to the brighter colors, but it's the exact opposite. At first I didn't think it was working correctly, but both my PS4 (I have the Pro model) and TV confirm that it's on and working fine.

I'm about a third through the game and am desperately begging for it to end. The entire game is literally just wall climbing and bad (unfunny) banter between Nathan and his brother. There is no reason for me to even have a gun since you might as well just stealth kill everyone. What the hell happened to the people who made Uncharted 2?

It actually is them. The Uncharted 3 director, who was working on 4, quit during development and then was taken over by the co-director of 2 and the co-director of The Last of Us.

These games have looked really good to me for a long time but I never got around to buying any of them. Uncharted 4 looks great and I'm probably gonna end up buying but since I haven't played the first 3, should I wait and play through those or does this game work pretty well as a standalone?

That's Megalith, if you're not familiar with him, he only posts here to complain about anything. Other than his news posts, I'm not sure I've ever seen him make a positive post here on the forum, or reply to anyone or any of his own threads.

Yeah, after I posted I realized who I quoted.

Still others might of had the same question/complaint.

Uncharted 4 wins my most disappointing game of 2016 award...yes it looks great as far as graphics but the story was disappointing...it didn't have the major action set-pieces which is a staple of the series...there was only 1 major set-piece (Chapter 11)...I can appreciate good story based gameplay but this did not feel like Uncharted to me...still a decent game but not a fitting conclusion to the Nathan Drake story

I agree, the game felt a bit rushed. Also, the storyline was pretty good I thought but lack of action was what turned me off a bit. Especially it took like 7 chapters for some action.

I liked the idea of the game more than the reality of it. I mean, the plot and dialogue were great. The settings were too. There were even a few good shootouts as well. Not as many as 1 and 2, but on par with 3.
The real issue is that the game was massively empty. It's actually a pretty large nearly sandbox-style game that has huge areas filled with nothing. Even the scattered treasures and whatnot are few and far between. The game feels like they just forgot to populate about 1/2 of the environments. As a result, the game drags in lots of places. You're walking around and moving toward a goal that is needlessly far away.
If I had to guess, I bet some of the disagreements with the team probably involved the direction of the game. The previous games were almost entirely linear and worked out great. Yet the newer Tomb Raider games took that formula in a sandbox-like direction and did it well. Uncharted 4 feels like they couldn't make up their mind if they wanted to do that or not.

Overall, as good as the game is, Domingo, Kickass, and others have touched on the weaknesses and between the music composer change that absolutely should not have happened on through.... it just "feels" and "seems" different. It almost doesn't feel fully like an Uncharted game in some respects.

I've read some things including the really nice artbook for this game and I get the idea that there was indeed a lot of creative consternation back and forth including about possibly even making this game at all. I don't know. I have some mixed feelings about some of this and plot developments although Nathan can't stay a hot rod 20 year old forever and it's clear that this arc is finished.

I would have to say, pound for pound, Rise of the Tomb Raider has done "this" better.

This is still a quality game and a quality Naughty Dog title so I don't want this to come across harshly or nitpicky. Just some conversation fodder. :)

the Tomb Raider reboots started off as Uncharted clones but have now surpassed them...Uncharted 4 went through a lot of behind the scenes turmoil with the creative director leaving etc...I think Naughty Dog is still one of the best game developers out there but it seems like the team was divided on how to end the series...I would have liked to have seen Amy Hennig's original vision for the story...Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann turned UC4 into Last of Us 1.5 and the tone felt off

How is UC4 even remotely close to Last of Us is what boggles me. They are two completely different games. Even the simplest game mechanics are different.
I don't get this comment.

The Last of Us has a different tone, but I think the look/fee/controls bring up the Uncharted comparison. There are some definite similarities and some points where they differ in a massive way.
I honestly didn't like the actual game for the Last of Us. I loved the setting, narrative, and graphics but felt the gameplay was so-so at best and tedious at worst. I probably would have preferred it as a movie.

As far as Tomb Raider goes, I think the last two games were probably better than Uncharted 4. At least gameplay-wise. Uncharted always has an epic scale that's tough to top, but I enjoyed playing both recent Tomb Raider games more.

I'm not talking about the game mechanics...the similarities lie in terms of the story based gameplay...Uncharted was mainly an action heavy series with story based elements where Last of Us was almost completely story based...if you can't see the influences that Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley brought to Uncharted 4 then I don't know what to tell you...Uncharted 4 nerfed a lot of the action and made it about Nate and his brother (and I don't even want to get into how bringing his brother who was never mentioned before into the final part of Uncharted was a bad move as well)

I think Uncharted 4 is probably the best looking game in terms of still shots. Especially the PS4 Pro's higher resolution version. The catch is that it's only 30fps, so that's not really a fair comparison when you factor in games that look nearly as good but push 2 or even 4x that framerate.

Finished the game last night. The epilogue made me want to throw up.

Let it be known that Uncharted 4 is not canon and merely fan fiction written by SJWs.

Looks like the DLC is big enough that it's going to be a full stand-alone game starring Chloe and Nadine:

Pricing hasn't been revealed, but it's part of the Season Pass content. Apparently 12/13 is the last day to get the Season Pass, so you might end up saying a few bucks based upon how expansive they're saying it is. Far Cry Blood Dragon has been thrown around as a similarly sized item.

I honestly can't tell much of a difference, but the colors in the game definitely do pop more with HDR on. It's fine imo. The difference to me is negligible but worth it to keep on.

FYI to those interested there is no Uncharted 4 "Season Pass" on the Playstation Store. If you want to pre-purchase the Lost Legacy DLC you have to buy what's called the "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End Explorer's Pack" which as of right now is $24.99. Link below.

All you haters are nuts! This was my favorite game of 2016 and my vote for best looking (and I game at 4k). I agree gun play isn't amazing but I loved the story, characters and presentation. I actually enjoyed this more than ROTTR which I didn't find all that memorable including the story.
