Google Calendar+ Android notifications?

So hopefully there is a way to do this if not kinda boggles my mind since your using all of Googles stuff but here's my issue. I use Google Calendar to make a reminder or event etc. I want to have it show up on my androids notifications that day. Google letting me know its updated Google Music which I never use I find pointless, but knowing I have an appointment that day or reminding me I need to take care of something tomorrow rather important. How can I do this cause it doesn't seem to happen. Seems like this should work?

You have to set the notification on the calendar event. When you open the Google Calendar app on the phone or in a web browser there's option for it. You can add as many as you want. For example I have 2 notifications set for every event. That way I get notified 2 days before to remind me and then a few minutes before the event happens.

In the app when you open the event there's a little bell symbol on the left side That's the notifications tab.

I also use the calendar widget on my desktop for quick looks and access.

When you make the calendar event, you can set reminders for it.

When you make the event, and you're editing the details, the reminders are in the listing, as the screenshot here shows - http://i.imgur.com/2jan8ex.png

Just make a new one as "custom", enter the time before the event you want it to go off, and then choose "Notification".

Thanks, I don't see those options for reminders though just events?
