Remember the drama from JerryRigEverything’s Nexus 6P test? Well, we don’t have much of that this time around, as Google (HTC) did a much better job of building this guy. The main complaint only seems to be that the earpiece mesh is made of cloth.

These "durability" test videos are horseshit, view revenue fodder. Who doesn't have a tempered glass screen protector and case on their phones these days? I'd like to see just how many people use their cells stock, I would bet that it's a very small subset of users.

Most of the phones I see in use everyday aren't protected by phone cases which explains why so many people have to replace or repair their phones so often.

Have a Galaxy Note 4 that's been naked since new a year and a half ago. As to be expected, there are a few scratches that are not perceivable when the screen is on, but they are there and easily viewable when off. I hate the bulk and or stickiness a case adds and by stickiness, I mean not easily being slid into my pocket.

I get the case adding bulkiness, but a screen protector should be your first priority when you get a new phone. Hell, even the phones I've had that I opted to use a plastic film protector have pristine screens after years of use.

I've not had a screen protector on any of the 3 smart phones I've had and haven't managed to scratch up or break any of my phones. I do make sure to keep my phone in my front pocket by itself instead of with keys and change and try not to drop it too many times.

Yeah its rather incredible how people vastly underestimate their chances of their phone getting a hard knock somewhere.

But then again it's their phone at risk here, what am I to say.

Lots...many phones like say the Galaxy Note 7 (formerly) have curved screens that TG protectors don't exist for.

I think those glass screen protectors look like shit, especially if the phone has a curved screen edge. Every phone I've had with a glass screen has held up perfectly. I use thin cases to protect the phone from drops.

I'd say the bigger problem is a lot of people underestimate their own stupidity and/or lack of coordination. I've seen my co-worker drop his Galaxy S7 at least 5 times in the ~3 months that he's owned it (only the heavy rubberized case he has on it saved it), another coworker had his broken when he decided to rest a metal bar on his leg for leverage (while his phone was in his pocket of course). I've only dropped my cheap, bare-ass $100 phone ONCE in the two years that I've owned it, and that was only because I slipped on a glob of lithium grease some jackass left on a warehouse floor. Managed to catch it before it hit the ground screen-first and it survived with only a minor scuff on a corner.

I use phone case to protect my screen and my phone, 2 birds with one stone.

I only wear clothes with roomy pockets (tight pockets annoy me greatly, especially if I carry anything in them, they become proportionally too bulky), so 'sticky' phone cases never have been a problem.

I would prefer naked phone, but until they make phones with Sapphire tops, I need to use a case whenever I am carrying it around.

The only thing I put on my phones are are a thin screen protector. It is a phone, it is portable, and is already housed in a case. If the phone manufacturer can not build it durable from the factory without me adding another piece of plastic around it, it is not worth having. People spend all this money on cases, why not just build the phone to be durable to begin with? I might break my phone today, but the last three units I have had did not have a case. The only time I have ever put a case on my phone was when I went backpacking. That was only because I wanted to actually bulk the phone up to fit tighter in a compartment in my pack.

I personally don't use a screen protector, since I feel it reduces touch sensitivity, and I only use a case when I absolutely have to. For the 6P, I have to use a case because the damn thing is so slippery.
