MSI GeForce GTX 1060 Gaming X 6GB $219 Free Shipping

I can't help but wonder if NVIDIA has something up their sleeve (as per the AMD refresh rumors), since a number of these GTX 1060 deals have appeared over the last few weeks, and the GTX 1060 has been a very good seller so far.

I was actually thinking of the rumored GTX 1080 Ti, and a corresponding downward price push. Maybe the GTX 1060 6GB price might just be permamently set at the $229-239 mark, and the GTX 1070 @ $329, GTX 1080 @ $499. Would really put the pressure on AMD's Vega 10/11, as well as the rumored Polaris refreshes (which IMO are more for the laptop market).
 
I'm stoked to see what the 1080ti would offer, especially if it's similar to the 980->980ti which was a surprisingly large jump. Might bring down the prices a bit, too, which is always nice.

Given the big jump from GTX 980 -> GTX Titan X Maxwell, and GTX 1080 -> GTX Titan X Pascal, yes, it will be a big jump, and will parallel the GTX 980 Ti, which is what I'm hoping for. Volta is on the horizon, however ...
 
Card in OP is showing $279.99 now, basically $20 higher than in the OP. After looking closely, I don't think it's the same card (i.e. Gaming vs Gaming X).
