It's not that - it's just that the Jet deal has been publicized in advance for a while now.
 
Jet literally sold me something from a private seller recently. It's like they bought it on eBay and drop shipped it to my doorstep. The shipping label was taped on and had someone's name in the shippers address.

Because after a year there are very few people who qualify as a "new" Jet customer anymore. Also, everyone and their dog knows about Jet's new customer deals.

I'm a new jet customer, but in a taxable state. :(
 
Looking it over there are two things to consider: 1) If you're in a state that would charge tax and that would bother you 2) You will not be able to get the code for Gears of War, you have to buy it directly from Newegg instead to get that code.
 
For what it's worth, I just today bought an Acer Chromebook 14 from Jet because TRIPLE15 brought the price down to $269.99. I didn't pay with a debit card *or* elect to waive free returns, because saving a few dollars isn't worth getting screwed.

If the box isn't PRISTINE, it's going back until I get one that is. I'm replacing a no-longer-updated N7 2013 because I'm tired of touchscreens.
 
Yesterday I was able to get an EVGA GTX 1070 SC for $360 with the SHOP10 code and waiving free shipping on returns. Seemed like a good deal.
 
So, no Gears of War from Jet.com then? Which retailers are offering the free game with purchase of 1070 and 1080? I assume newegg and amazon, any others?
