I have the opportunity to grab a Moto 360 Smartwatch to replace my dying Pebble Classic. I know, not a HUGE upgrade, but it's an upgrade for me. I don't need bleeding edge when it comes to the smartwatches.

Does anyone still use this watch? What has been your impressions? Anything I should look out for, aside from battery life (I read there was a firmware update on this)?

My 15 year son has it and he loves i,t he codes android and Linux and is a techie. It pairs flawlessly with his custom and stock ROM Nexus 7 and S4.

Only complaint is the oled screen has some faint burn in from charging display.

The 360 watches use LCD displays.

I have a friend with one and he still enjoys it. As long as you're ok with the much shorter battery life compared to your Pebble and a lot less visibility outdoors in sunlight, it should serve you well. The battery normally lasts around a day to a day and a half.

How much did you find one for?

Yes, I read some reviews on the battery life - the one that really got me was an Engadget review where the dude had almost every notification on for the 360 and within 12 hours, took out 91% of battery life. TBH, I'm not that notification-crazy, and at best, I really only have a few select apps piping through to my Pebble, and I tell people those same methods are the best way to get at me. SO I'm sure I could easily get a full day, if not more.

And plus, the biggest reason to switch is that my Pebble is not charging correctly, and the battery life has been even more dismal at best. I've exhausted troubleshooting with Pebble's support, so I'm just gonna try something new (to me).

EDIT: I found it for $87.

An update: Waiting (albeit impatiently...) for my 360 1st gen to ship from a vendor through Amazon. I'm really itching for this because my Pebble is pretty much wonking out big time now.

I have one and use it occasionally- it lasts through a good day easily. There are some very innovative watch faces out there.

make sure you put it into theater mode before you set it on the charger. I have a nasty orange burn-in mark in a arc around the watch from the charge indicator. If your not going to wear it for an extended period of time leave it off the charger, i got battery swell and it popped the back cover off the watch.

edit: PS, theater mode is 2 quick button taps while on the charger dock. it will throw up a message before the screen shuts off.

Well, I finally received.

Overall, and short version: I'm loving it!!
It has been off the charger since 6:45 this morning, brightness level 1, ambient mode off, limited notifications (call text and email only really) and at 61% after over 9 hours.

At first it was shaky. I was getting some serious battery drain when I first charged it and paired it up. It also downloaded three major updates throughout the weekend. Currently its on 6.0.1 And I have not explored apps yet.

So my thumbs are up on this. Money definitely well spent!

Now it's a swipe down, swipe left and theater mode!

I may bring the charger with me to work just in case. But so far, with the settings I have, seems pretty decent.

I'll be wary of the battery swell and screen burn.

I checked out a couple so far. When I can get a moment I'll be checking out apps and faces to see what works for me.

When you first pair the watch, it syncs apps with your phone. Expect decent battery drop that first day. You already have the updates installed? Awsome...

I still love my OG Moto 360. Bought it on the first day it was available. The leather band finally came apart a couple months ago so I tossed on a cheapo 8$ "leather" band and it keeps going. I still get close to 1.5 days off of a charge, but YMMV with how many alerts you get. There's no reason to get game alerts on your wrist etc

The only alerts I get are calls, texts and emails. Social media, games and other apps on my phone can take a back seat.

Yeah I'm consistently getting down to like 40-60% after 16 hours off the charger.
