According to this site, this is a leaked image of the upcoming 4K Google Chromecast Ultra. The 4K-capable digital media player will supposedly retail for $69. Other than the picture and rumored price, there aren't many details at this point.

woo?

I may not be the target audience for this, as all of my TVs are connected to a windows PC.

Whats the point? Last time I checked all 4K TV's are smart TV's. I have a few Gen2 Cromecast, but I use them on my 2 LG 1080p Dumb TV's. My 4K Viso TV has Youtube, Netflix and it's own built in wifi casting in case I want to cast from my Android phone or Ipad. Unless their's dumb 4K TV's out there I don't see why anyone would buy one of these. 4K monitors don't count!

is the Chromecast a standalone device yet? casting idea is stupid, i just want to run netflix and youtube without using other devices.

I wonder if it has better Wifi? The "old" Chromecast that I used couldn't maintain a decent experience at 1080p when it was just 6 feet and one wall from from my router whereas my phone, PC, and FireTV managed just fine through 20 feet and two walls.

Yes, that's supposed to be fixed in this model.
