The [H]ardForum Perpetual Freebies Thread

Thanks man but it's only 500mA which is half of what I need. I appreciate the response though.

500mah should do fine since the extra usually marked up because of the devices USB port. If you dont try to hook any big things to the USB, it should work good enough and not over heat PSU.

No it's not working. Random crashing due to lack of juice. The adapter I have is not the one that actually goes to the router.

how do you know its lack of juice and not over heating?

edit; also is it a cheap chinese pos adapter or somthing with an actual 500mw output

I aske these questions because I often have to run routers without their original PSUs
and use questionable voltages and currents.

No, it is a linksys adapter. It works fine with one of my other adapters that has 1A output.

Free for the price of shipping: Intel C2Q Q8300, missing a cap off the bottom but I didn't notice that until after I had run it for months and upgraded to a Q9550. PM for pics of missing cap if interested.

EDIT: The CPU is gone, thanks for the interest.

Hello guys I have a somewhat working Vantec Nexstar CX 2.0 external 2.5" hard drive enclosure Sata to USB 2.0 model: NST-200S2-BK. I am not sure what is wrong with it, sometimes it cannot see the drive installed inside the enclosure. PM me if anybody wants, just pay shipping.

First person to quote this post gets it. Don't pm me or you are disqualified.

Looking for some stuff:

AMD Athlon X2 (Dual-Core AM2) up to a 4800+ if possible. Upgrading from a Single Core
SATA Hard drive, need one that functions well, existing 80GB has some performance issues
DDR2 RAM 2GB Sticks x 2

These are all for an upgrade I am trying to help someone out on. Any help would be appreciated. They could use a small bump to stay with the times, A single core and 2GB struggles to cut it these days. I've used up most of what I have helping someone else out and the Socket 775 CPU I have won't help out.

I am looking for some 2GB DDR2 laptop SODIMM modules... Speed doesn't matter; these are for some older HP Thin Clients I am trying to fix up and donate to my local Boy Scout troop. I could use as many as 8 of these.

Edit: FOUND

How about cheap-to-free laptop SATA HDDs? Capacity doesn't really matter (as long as it's 60GB+ plz), nor do thickness/cache/RPM...just has to work.

two dipshits over at hardware swap sold me two bad boards. one 775 and one oem 1155. both with broken cpu socket pins. good for parts only. just pay mailing costs.

the 775 board did work at first and after trying to get it to post with other cpus that's when I saw the broken cpu socket pin.

I have a 500GB 3.5" SATA HDD available if anyone needs/wants it. EDIT: GONE

I am looking for 2GB or 4GB DDR3 SO-DIMMs. These are going in to another batch of HP thin clients that I am fixing up in order to donate to our local boy scout troop. I am looking for several of these.

looking for a cheap or free AM2+ mainboard to fix an older system.
I have one along with a Duron and 2 gigs of memory for the price of shipping. PM me your zip code.

It won't work with anything higher than Win Vista. It doesn't like win 7.
