MindFactory.de sales figures for GeForce 10-series and RX 400 series

Palit, actually. An Asia-only brand. Looking at how Pascal clocks I didn't think it worth the extra $60 or so getting the G1 1070.

That requires removing the HSF, and I'm not quite ready to do that yet, since it'll definitely void warranty. They have stickers over the HSF screws. How much more clock did you managed to gain?

About 75Mhz stable to stable heat soaked. It was around 500 pts Firestrike Ultra on a 1080 though. 5250 -> 5750 IIRC

Well the numbers might have to do with the fact the RX480 and GTX 1060 in europe both cost the same (both are overpriced at about 260 - 299 EUR $290 ~ $330). So with that kind of pricing I'd pick Nvidia if both costs the same. The sales figures of GTX 1070 suprises me though as that thing costs just below 500 € or so. I'm suprised THIS many ppl are willing to pay that much knowing it goes for quite a bit over what Nvidia was telling us at first.

I'm not that poor but no way in hell I'm giving my money to such price gauging tactics of lately. I just can't do it even if I want a GTX 1070 but never expected it to go for that steep price. Hopefully come X-mas the thing goes at reasonable pricing.
Well... I just ordered GTX 1070 with ACX 3.0 cooler for 459 € directly from EVGA. Since I sold my old card I end up paying half of that. Now, at that price it's not too bad deal especially when you compare it to most expensive custom GTX 1060 cards.

Mindfactory.de numbers from today:

RX460 545
RX470 2025
RX480 3415
GTX 1060 10090
GTX 1070 17535
GTX 1080 7505

Or ~6.67 Pascal cards for each Polaris card sold.

That store sold more GTX1080's than RX460, RX470 & RX480 combined...going for "mainstream" didn't seem to work for AMD.

People move up in SKUs, its been obvious for a long time, as in years. Anyone thinking anything else is simply a fool.

AMD went with what they could. Not with what they wanted.

More clear now than ever before. Delaying Vega for a year after the 1070 and 1080 was obviously not a conscious decision.

This can't be true.

I was told all over teh internets that the $200 RX 480 was going to mop the floor because that's the real mainstream target demographic. Jen-Hsun was supposed to be busy getting his resume together for his new career as a fry-shoveler at Five Guys.

Between that and the console wins and async compute, AMD was due to have 90% market share by now.

...or demand for that matter.

I'd argue that now as the 400 series is perpetually in stock, while the 1060 cards are STILL often out of stock, and selling more units. It appears that no one is buying the 400 series cards anymore.

I mean, I might still get one because I'm an AMD fan. But, I'm a realistic AMD fan. I don't make things up to support my point of view.

I won't say your wrong, cause there is a high chance the 1060s are selling more units but I'm not seeing the out of stock 1060s your seeing.

AMD RX 480 Pre-order & In Stock Tracker - NowInStock.net

Kinda the same in stock, out of stock situation.

I was in Best Buy yesterday and the XFX 460 was at 150 USD, the 470 at 200 USD and the 480 at 285 USD (all XFX cards). Which boggled my mind...

GTX 1070 looks like the real winner this generation. Gotta say, that's probably one of the most impressive cards in terms of perf/watt in the past few years. Price isn't bad either if you don't get a founders edition.

That's because NIS is listing some discontinued models as out of stock. Compare these (in stock is defined as being able to add to card and checkout):

Newegg's RX480 Page (480 only, new, sold by Newegg): 17 total, 15 in stock, 2 out of stock (both reference models, may be discontinued)
Newegg's GTX 1060 Page (1060 only, new, sold by Newegg): 29 total, 10 in stock, 19 out of stock

That's a noticeable discrepancy. AS out of stock 1060s come in stock, other models sell out.

The "mainstream" would rather pay $300+ for a GTX 970 than wait nearly 2 years for a $80 MSRP discount from AMD. Looks like AMD execs don't understand the time value of money.

The real joke here is the only extra BoM cost for the 1070 over the 480 8GB is the 35% larger die for the GP104, yet Nvidia is able to charge well over 60% more in end retail pricing; there's even more gravy wtth the 1080. Even Apple would kill for that kind of margins.

I got to be honest I see a lot of posts on the 1060 and the 1080 but not the 1070 so I'm a little skeptical.

The 1070 is a great card. However, the gap between the 1060/1070 isn't as large as the 960/970 gap was. Also, the 1070/1080 gap is larger than the 970/980 gap was. Basically, last generation the 970 took a dump on everything else in terms of value. This generation is more linear going from card to card.

In picture form, it's something like this;

960 -------- 970 -- 980

1060 ------ 1070 ---- 1080

And then there's the price change.

960 was $199/$229
1060 is $199/$249

970 was $329
1070 is $379/$449

980 was $549
1080 is $599/$699

The combination of the smaller performance gap and larger price gap between x60 and x70 makes the 1070 less attractive relatively this time around. However, the similar price gap between it and the x80, but for a larger performance differential makes the 1080 more attractive than the 980 ever was.

This is stolen from a Reddit post, so some of you have already seen this. Keep in mind that these are calculated (unofficial) sales figures from ONE outlet.

RX 480 - 3,560
RX 470 - 225
RX 460 - 50

GTX 1080 - 5,830
GTX 1070 - 11,230
GTX 1060 - 4,265

Some telling things here. GP104 yields seem pretty low if 1070s are 2:1. This doesn't seem like a choice by NV, because 1080s have been harder to come by since launch.

Impressed that the 1060, launched over 2 weeks after the RX 480, has outsold it so far. But this doesn't surprise me. As I stated in another thread, I can buy a 1060 from multiple outlets multiple times per day. I can't do the same with the RX 480.

Leads more credence to the thought that AMD simply hasn't been restocking as much as some would hope. Looks like they blew their load on launch day and have only had a trickle since.

Mindfactory.de numbers from today:

RX480 3415
RX470 2025
RX460 545

GTX 1080 7505

I like how the 480 figure is going down LOL.

I like how the 480 figure is going down LOL.

You can add the difference to 3560 RX 480s and the combined Polaris numbers still won't beat the 1080.

If AMD and their fanboys was running for the U.S presidential elections, they will demanding a recount because they can't even beat a single state where NV has the worst results while everybody else will be LMAOing so hard at AMD.

If you read up, its because some RX480 (4GB?) SKUs are already gone. But you can take a guess on how many of those was sold. Its not really changing anything.

Just as they only had 3 980TI at the time.

It doesn't matter where you look: JPR, Steam, # of user reviews on Amazon etc, units sold on MindFactory.de. The Pascal vs Polaris number differentials in each are so huge that all paints a bloodbath for AMD.

I love how the rationalizations against the accuracy of Polaris numbers, when the same stuff are also just as likely to affect Nvidia at the same rate. Only a conspiracy theorist will suggest something like AMD buyers are less likely to give reviews than NV buyers.

So that would mean 145 were sold on pre order and were no longer available, seems like a supply issue.

Not sure where you get 145 from. If the numbers keeps up with Mindfactory and steam. AMD sits with around 10-15% of the 14/16nm GPU share. This also seems to be the case for the company financials.

3,560 -3415=145

And what has that to do with preorders? If a SKU is gone its not counted. It could be 500 or any other number as such. A number at 145 or above.

And why would it be a supply issue? The cards are in stock and have been so for most of the time. Perhaps *gisp* the demand isn't more than it is? Specially after the PCI-SIG scandal.

So what you are saying if they sold 3,560 cards but then the SKU is gone then they delete the 3,560 cards as being sold, they never existed LOL.
Now you could have 5000 cards on pre order but only 2500 got delivered but then the SKU is then gone,
that is 2500 sold but that also means that there was another 2500 on pre order that never made it.

Now its just rambling for you. That's not what was said. The SKUs not removed still counts. Seems you are trying to look for an excuse to "boost" sales ;)

The exact words are irrelevant, if the cards sold went down because of SKU then its because more people were ordering that SKU than what was available, if consumers can order more than whats available then that counts as pre orders, the pre orders subsequently could not be fulfilled hence the number drop.

What happens when a SKU is gone?

Exactly what i said.

Can you prove a preorder counts as a sale? At least we can agree that discontinued SKUs are not counted.

Considering their stock level. If you say its due to preorders. Then those people didn't want the RX 480 card anyway. And people choosing the 470 or 1060 instead.

I take that as a no, you cant prove it.
I just did prove it, pre orders are counted as a sale until they can't be fulfilled, the SKU is gone the remaining orders could not be fulfilled then the numbers are re adjusted, if you disagree then so be it.

Considering the new Quake game coming out is on the same engine, and will probably have vulkan....Yea It is a big deal, specially if they are saying its a 120hz game. I would say Vulkan would let you achieve that. So would DX12, but you know Quake will be opengl/Vulkan.

There's a new Quake game coming out?
