Nothing at all wrong with microtransactions as long as you can get the same stuff from playing the game. In Forza 6 you can turn off microtransactions so you never even see it in the game.

Yep, microtransactions are not an issue AT ALL in Forza since they patched 5 after all the complaints. I progressed so fast without microtransactions that I had many millions of credits and literally nothing to spend them on. It's actually too easy to level and earn credits if you ask me.
 
Its so easy to get credits in Forza 6 especially if you use the forza hub and check in every week or so they give you 400k in credits on the xb1 forza games each and 40k on the older games, nv it sounds like you are just complaining to complain. Forza 6 is the best core Forza to ever release, 5 was a disappointment and Turn 10 learned their lesson. I have played every forza and forza horizon my xbox live tag is Madman225. Also the xbox app on windows 10 is surprisingly good, much better than I thought microsoft could do, they are actually all in on bringing xbox to pc.

Forza Horizon 3 looks fun and if they leave the pc settings open so you can crank the frames and settings up as high as you want it should be a much higher fidelity version than the xb1 version. XB play anywhere will be big for me in my household, the wife and I will be able to play GoW 4 without me having to by another xb1.
 
yes... very hard to believe. First issue is if its cross platform game like Gears, what xbox live (windows) account will it be tied to? If anything they probably will sell a product key.
 
They need to do something but i have zero faith in them getting it right based on previous experiences. Microsoft has the WORST clients and distribution methods of games and updates out of all it's competitors on pc since forever.

If you have purchased games in the past from them, currently you have to use TWO different clients to get all your games from them. One is the GFW marketplace client it's horribly maintained and goes down all the time for MONTHS even and you can no longer buy games for it, but at least games you purchased can be downloaded in xp/vista/7/8/10. So it's still slightly better then the windows store which doesn't even let you access those GFWM games an is limited to just 8/10.
 
Personally, Apex looks great on my system with everything maxxed out so I wouldn't doubt this will look better.
 
28th September can't come soon enough. I really wish it is not Windows 10 exclusive though.
 
anyone confirm if this is a cross purchase title? i know my current rig doesn't run FM6A as smoothly as the Xbone does, but i hope to upgrade the core here in a few more months.

On the store page, look for the "Xbox Play Anywhere" badge. It's under the box art here.

I believe you have to buy the digital version for it to be cross purchase, which really stinks since I already pre-ordered the Ultimate edition from Amazon.

That what sucks. I want the Xbox version to play with my friends, I also want the PC version so I can play with better graphics, but I want the Amazon discount more.

So it looks like you can now preorder the digital Ultimate edition from Amazon as well. I may try doing that and see if it still has the Prime 20% off discount and if it works, cancel the disc order.

It's weird though, the digital version says it releases on Aug. 30th and the disc version says it releases on the 23rd. Oh, it says Sept. 23rd, that makes sense now.

You get to play the Ultimate version early if you preorder it, like Forza 6.

I'm pretty sure the amazon discounts only apply to physical copies and not digital. I ended up pre-ordering the standard version, digitally on xbone so I can get the pc version for free.

Yup, it appears to be that way with Best Buy GCU too. So basically MS is charging you $20 if you want to be able to play it on your PC as well since it appears they aren't allowing discounting on digital purchases.

It's not something Microsoft is doing, any and all digital purchases regardless of platform do not get a Prime or GCU discount. It is a policy that Amazon and BB has.

Why do you think they have that policy? It's much easier for them to deliver a code through email then mailing you a physical copy, if anything, they'd be more inclined to give you a discount when they don't have to ship something to you. Except they don't, because they can't.
 
FH3 is on MS list of games that get a 15$ credit to your MS account if you preorder through them digitally. While not a direct discount, it does make the DLC purchases less costly

Probably because they can make that money back when you go and trade it in after a few weeks.
 
I want to get this game but I really cant decide. As someone whos familiar with motorsport I have never played horizon. Is the customization that's in motorsport in horizon the same or is horizon different and/or more conservative?

Horizon is pretty casual and less (if any) simulation.
 
Actually that's not true at all. Horizon is built off of the FM engine and has the exact same suite of tuning/upgrading options at your disposal. You can tweak suspension, gearing, do engine swaps, etc. In fact, FH3 has some new stuff not yet seen including widebody kits and a bunch of new wheels to choose from.

The handling model itself is a little "relaxed" compared to Motorsport, but it's still quite good. If you turn all the assists off it feels fun yet realistic and natural. IMHO it is the best compromise possible between sim and easy/fun.

when/where did you get to play it? is there a demo or beta yet or did you get to try it at a game/hardware con?
 
I haven't played FH3, but I have like 50 hours on FH2. Everything so far indicates FH3 is FH2 in a new/larger area with more cars, tuning options, etc.

Well, regardless it's happening. The first wave of MS games to hit Steam I believe is in September. Forza Horizon 3 has been 100% confirmed to be coming to Steam.

Phil Spencer has turned the Xbox/Gaming division around at MS.
 
FH3 is on Steam? Dafuq! I will wait for Steam then. Is it DX12 or only DX11 since I don't want to play it on Windows 10. lol.

I am assuming that if you buy on Steam, you can't play it on the XBONER?

In other news, Forza 6 and Horizon 2 DLCs are on sale right now. Easy way to boost your Forza Reward points if you want to try to move up a tier before Horizon 3 releases.
 
Just completed the stormy island gauntlets for fh2 the other day. Such an enjoyable game.
