I heard that the HHHL adapter cards for both HyperX Predator and RD400 are actually done by Lycom.

If you want a "brand" name adapter probably your best bet is look for one of the HP Z Turbo drive cards without the NAND (or if you can get one cheap enough that you can re-purpose the existing card) that have shown up on ebay lately. There are single, dual and quad versions. Other than the this, the Supermicro (Or the Dell), all the others will be no-name or boutique Chinese stuff with limited to zero support.

But who on earth is Lycom? Hasn't anyone heard of it? it's a generic nobody brand.

=====================================

HP is out of the question. they don't make silent fan. And I don't agree you need a cooling fan to cool a M.2, none of the other motherboard has a fan to cool their m.2 slot. Do you know the model name from dell or super micro?

I found a good one from Asus, but I don't know why it needs a "NVM Express SSD support available with the ASUS Hyper Kit* (*Sold separately)"

Nate7311, that's the LYcom we are talking about earlier. Do you know anyone who heard of Lycom?

Nope. I bought it based on the 96 reviews with a VERY high average rating. Works fine. It's $20, pull the trigger and be happy ;)
