Windows 10 adding blue light reduction

lol, I would never use that feature since the changing colors would be annoying. The first thing I did on this laptop was calibrate the bluish cast on the screen, but I would have fixed a reddish or greenish cast if it had been off.

And I'm not sure what the point is. Studies of the effect on sleep have to do with exposure within an hour of sleep*. OK, that's probably something Windows 10 collects anyways. ;) Changing it throughout the day like f.lux does is junk science.

* if you fall asleep in the same amount of time regardless of whether you used a lighted device or not, this problem probably doesn't affect you

I don't care if it helps or not with sleep since I don't even notice. But I do notice a massive reduction in eye strain when using these types of features.

It's just a welcome change for my eyes in the evenings especially after having been staring at a screen all day at work. Honestly, you don't even notice the color temperature change all that much once you get used to it. Very soon after enabling the feature you'll practically forget you have it on.

Since I look at a few different screens every day, I doubt I'd get used to the color being off. I use brightness adjustments to avoid eye strain.

Anyways, like I mentioned, the idea that adjusting blue light during the day does anything beneficial is junk science.

Been using f.lux for a while. I have no problem sleeping with or without it. For me, what it does though is make the monitors less bright at night. Setting it on slow transition, you will hardly notice the change as it dims the blue.

In the cellular phone this feature is nice if you have to look at the time at night/morning. It reduces brightness and gives a reddish hue.

I've seen Blue Light Reduction in monitors like my old BenQ you can hardly notiice it. Flux on the other had makes everything brown and if you are really tired your eyes will feel less tense and you might start yawning actually. My problem with Flux it takes over all the colors on the monitor also makes my skin burn due to either the eyes taking in more unnatural LED light or something else. Flux is pretty hard to uninstall if you don't know what you are doing either.

The Blue Light Reduction on the BENQ just makes white colors yellowish not sure how much it helps.
