looking for a good z170m motherboard. My budget is $130. I really have my sights set on the Asrock z170m Extreme4 but i cant find any reviews of it. All recommendations are appreciated!

I just put together 2 systems with the Asrock z170m Pro4S. One with a i5-6500 and the other with a i5-6600K. The 6600K system has 2 8GB EVGA DDR4-3000 ram and a H100i v2 water cooler. After updating to the latest bios the board took the XMP profile and OC'd to 4.2 with no fuss, I am going to try for higher when I get a chance.

I have had good luck with Asrock consumer boards, the Extreme4 has some better parts than the Pro4S so my guess is it would be a good board.

EDIT: the reason I went with the Pro4S over the Extreme4 even though they are pretty much the same price is microcenter did not have the Extreme4 and I wasn't going to waste the $30 off the motherboard when you buy a CPU.

Looks like the z170m Extreme4 is on sale at Newegg at the moment for $100.

At regular prices it'd be between it and the Gigabyte z170mx Gaming 5. On paper I'd prefer the Gigabyte due to Alpine Ridge and the audio software (Creative xfi MB3).

Big fan of the Maximus VIII Gene from Asus

Runner up would be the ASrock Extreme 4

I've also purchased it and can verify it's been great for me, had it 8 months now. Once in a while the UEFI BIOS screen will be twitchy with the mouse freezing up but other than that no problems.
