SATA Dock USB-C, safe at this time?

I've been thinking about investing in a dual SATA docker making cold-storage retrieval easier for me (currently just have the SATA to USB converter and a power cable).
Would also be nice to have the option of cloning drives. And I was thinking since USB-C docks exist, will this be the best option for me? I've seen and read about bad USB-C implementations on chargers and this has frightened me a bit.

And I wonder if it can be dangerous at the receiving end?
I will be using this with normal USB until I get a computer with USB-C
Should I get this or is there any other brands to recommend?

I have not used that dock but i did buy a similar product a few months back (3 or so) and my PC would not see any HDDs attached to it. I got a replacement and the same issue, tried different drivers (win10 is meant to have the correct drivers by default) and still no luck so whether its my Mobo or that dock or just shitty USBC/3.1 im not user.

That being said i have had issues with USB3.0 as well on this mobo and my last so I think USB 3 in general is not that stable yet (I have disk docks drop off after a few hours of use)

Been using USB3 since 5 years now. Now even intel which now have USB interface on the CPU itself and some of the PCIE lanes are reserved for USB3 and is much faster than the external chip. But this is iffy since using it with like with the motherboard USB slot to case connector wont work in all cases but the built in USB3 port works fine makes me think the timing is more critical for higher speeds. The difference being, 30-35mb/s for the seperate chip to 40-45mb theoretical max speeds using skylake cpu's. Have not tested real USB3 speeds but that also should be faster if USB2 can show such an increase. The device shows up as a USB2.1 device. The USB3 slots being in the back are much harder to use. USB3.2 which is same speed as USB-C or 10gb instead of 5gb/s for USB3.1 might only work with the built in motherboard slots and not the extenders since even the USB3.1 devices dont always show up as a USB3 device but as a USB3 device working at USB2 speeds.. aka USB2.1...
