I think I got my plan over 10 years ago when it was $30/mo, had a Blackberry Curve.

I still have it today but it has gone up $20/mo, first $10 increase was for the SERO Premium which included Any Mobile Anytime.
The second $10 increase was when I got the iPhone 4s, this fee was for Premium DATA, aka 4G fee, which the 4s didn't have,
but you were forced to get Premium DATA if you wanted the iPhone.

I upgraded to the iPhone SE last month and during online activation it said that my new monthly payment would be $60.
I was confused since there was no mention of a plan change when I was upgrading and ordering my phone.

I called up and told them that I didn't want to change my plan and that there was no mention of a plan change when I ordered the phone.

So the nice rep from the Philippines did a device swap so that my plan wouldn't change, and inquired about the activation fee since it
was waived if you ordered and activated the phone online, and she said there would be no activation fee since she did a device swap. Cool.

I don't use my phone much since I am home pretty much all the time, still recovering from my bilateral hip surgery.

I had mine up till a few months ago, I finally gave it up & switched to google fi.

Still have mine! Its not the incredible deal that it once was after the price hikes, no free upgrades and having to deal with corporate. However for a single only line its still the cheapest.

I got my new iPhone SE for $50, would have been free if I chose the 16GB model. I ordered it online with no issues, but during the online activation when I got it, it wanted to change my plan to a $60/mo plan, called up and said that I don't want to
change my plan, I just want my new phone activated, and she did the device swap and I kept my plan as is.

Still have mine x2. Sometimes I wonder if I should just get a family line for my wife and I, but I never do it

Still have my SERO plan as well. Single device, $50, and I average 4GB of data use a month.

I have had my SERO plan since 2006 using the good ol PPC 6700! I now pay $50 a month (plus $9 in taxes and fees) for 500mins unlimited data. I still do 2 year contracts so I get discounted phones but am limited to buying directly from Sprint. For some reason the $30 upgrade fee has always been waived on my plan so that is a bonus. I have started looking around at multi-line plans trying to see if it is worth jumping ship by teaming up with family. I have until next October to decide.

i just switched from my sero play to a this 25gb data unlimited min and text for 2 lines paying about $115 a month. I have a lease going on the other line. So it's probably close to $90 or so. But basically pushed me off sero if i wanted to get a new phone.

SERO may be dead on August 26th
I doubt that. I've also had a plan since 2008 ish, and heard many doom and gloom sero ending stories.

And here I am many years later, with a SERO plan.

Looks like PERHAPS they are going to charge another $10 a month at worst. Sprint has a history of trying to kill SERO and then backing off.

Even if it were another $10, for my unlimited plan, I'd easily pay it.

I'm also on SERO, I think now is the end (right before the iPhone 7 launch). Sprint is getting crushed and rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic now.

Like I said I have heard this many times. And I remember when Sprint finally did do away with the plans, and gave everybody shit who made ANY account changes.

And there was backlash like crazy from the community. Then Sprint backed off, and starting working with SERO customers, instead of losing them in troves, like they had been.

There is an LTE black hole over my house. At this point if they put up any roadblocks I will just ditch Sprint and get better service from AT&T Prepaid through Straight Talk :(

I think I read if you are on Sero and activate a new phone it will cost $10 more for that line. So instead of $50 a month, it'll now be $60 once a new phone is activated.

When you try and activate online, it wants you to change plans, which is $10 more. I called support and they did a device swap for me so I didn't have to change to a higher cost plan.

So here is the most current info or so it seems. If you are already on Sero-P you will be fine. You will not be forced onto the higher plan if you upgrade your device. However, if you are on regular Sero and want to upgrade to a LTE device, you can no longer go to Sero-P and you will have to do this new higher cost Sero Unlimited plan. Looks like this plan still has some life in it yet! SERO is dead - any changes will kill your plan

Okay, that's awesome. I'm tempted to try a Note 7, but figured I'd keep my G4 as long as I can since I'm on a Sero Premium plan. This is great news because I had just cut insurance off on our phones to save us some money ($30 roughly), but from what I read on reddit it seemed like my plan would be going right back up once I activated a new line.

Who knows though.... this can change at any time as well. I figure eventually they will get us all.... I will keep enjoying it while I can but want to be aware of my exit options. I hope I get 1 more renewal and subsidy out of it October 2017.

I don't have the Sero plan but we do have the two-line contract-free unlimited T-Mobile plan for $100 that was semi-recently discontinued. The plan comes with Music Freedom so it won't count towards your consumed data. (if you've consumed ~23GB of data usage, T-Mobile reserves the right to "deprioritize" if the tower/network becomes congested. It comes with unlimited tethering for each line (7GB is 4G/LTE; after it's 128kbps). Luckily, upgrades via Jump on Demand so far won't interfere with our plans. Customer support service is great with team magenta. I also opt'd for a TM-1900 ASUS Wi-Fi router for a $25 security deposit.

By the way, nice Caller ID name!

Forgot about my Caller ID name. Maybe that is why some people don't answer when I call, lol
I also got a free Asus router from Sprint. they don't require a deposit and it's yours to keep after having Sprint service for 12 months.

i dumped my SERO plan about 3.5 years back. my data speeds were so slow that peak speed, if continuous for the entire month, would come out to 4gb max usage. wasn't worth it, not being that slow. now i wouldn't mind the unlimited data, but fuck if i am ever going to give sprint a shot again.

Same boat, dropped it because of the data speeds being intermittent, and just plain slow. I would turn off 4G on my S3, and 3G speeds were better. Went to Cricket, never looking back, or going back, to sprint.

I fought through it and luckily for me the speeds and coverage in my local area increased exponentially. In most major areas it is sufficient for the cost but when I'm off the beaten path coverage sucks or is non-existent.

What phone # did you call?

I think I just called the regular *611 on my phone and was then transferred to the SERO department.
They then called me on my home phone since I had to turn off the 5S I was on to get the SE turned on.

Just preordered an iPhone 7 128GB through (888) 876-8381 and got verbal and email confirmation I will remain on the $50 ($40+$10 Premium) SERO plan for two more years. Paid $299 + tax for the phone, no activation / shipping / upgrade fees.

I figure my current iPhone 6 is worth $200 or so making this a relatively cheap upgrade while keeping a SERO plan.

when you get the phone and do the online activation, read everything before clicking continue, just in case the system does the automatic upgrade to the $60/mo plan. if it does, you will have to call in like I did and have them do a device transfer for the new phone.

I will call in and skip the website, I don't trust the website at this point.

I had a long debacle after initially ordering a white (silver) phone online and then deciding to switch to black. Sprint cancelled my white phone order however I couldn't get through the checkout process for the black model, the site said I still had a pending upgrade. It took me hours between chat and phone calls before someone figured out Sprint has a separate system for iPhone reservations and of parts the website may not know about it for a few days. So I had no order for an actual phone, but a reserved place in a queue to get one o_OAfter many calls and disconnections, one nice fellow finally nailed the problem and I just ordered the phone from him.
