I am NOT suggesting that someone invest into this. Just thought it was interesting for GPU aficionados.

The Wolfe: Supercharge Your Laptop Kickstarter. Basically a Thunderbolt cage to add an external video card to your PC or Mac.

Article on it from a Mac standpoint.
Kickstarter campaign pitching external GPU for MacBook Pro, promising up to 10x performance increase

Empty cage is $269 on Kickstarter. Wonder how long until generic cages are on NewEgg from Rosewill? :)

So how exactly do these things hookup and work? Obviously the razer one needs certain razer laptops right? What laptops would it work with?

Basically they expose the PCIe slot via Thunderbolt AFAIK. And no, the razer one works with most new laptops with Thunderbolt, as shown in the video.

LOL...I just saw this and was wondering if it had been posted yet.

Kind of behind the curve, aren't they? But I guess it proves that Mac users will throw money at just about anything.

(Yes, I know it's not only for Mac, but I'd bet at least 90% of people who KSed this are Mac users given the way it was marketed)

If you dont want lots of problems, id avoid this. get a desktop and upgrade your cpu or get a beefy laptop.

This is true. I can se a use for it but would think it would cause annoying issues.

There is already something like this for Mac, although it's $500 or $600 and still thunderbolt 2.
