Just FYI, there is a sale on Steam right now that has The Witcher 3 marked down to $24.99 for the game and $50.24 for the game plus the expansion pass. If you are like me and want a great deal, AND a physical copy of the game, you can head on over to Amazon and get The Witcher 3 Complete Edition for $39.99 if you pre-order with Prime.

I can only get it for $49.99 if I pre-order with Prime.

Is it better than Shadow of Mordor?

The witcher 3 it's just in another level.. I loved Shadow of mordor but honestly those can't even be compared, and being a little bit more honest, very few few games can be really compared to the kind of amazing game the witcher 3 is... probably best game I have ever played and enjoyed so much..

Presumably, the GOTY edition includes all DLC. It'd be identical to the base game + expansion pass + free DLC.

Presumably? That sounds very weasely lawyerish. Can we get a confirmed yes? Amazon's page is a tad vague, "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Game of the Year edition brings together the base game and all the additional content released to date"

I'd love to play The Witcher III Wild Hunt yet it is third person view only. If a first person view version comes available then I'll bite.

I realize there is a first person mod available but it pulls back to third person during combat which isn't my cup of tea.

I already own Witcher 1 & 2, however when I went to steam and looked at the Witcher bundle (includes Witcher 1 & 2) it gave me a 10% discount off of Witcher 3 for a grand total of $22.49.
Not bad :)

I'm normally not a third person fan, but it grew on me for the Witcher series.

Wow, i just finished witcher 3 yesterday.
Awesome game although it did start to feel really long.
Steam says i put 99.5 hours into it.

I don't understand why the game + expansion pass is $50.24 but the game alone is $24.99 and the expansion pass alone is $24.99 ($49.98) - why would I pay 26 cents more? Less clicks? Or is there something missing from buying both separately?

EDIT: lol confirmed - even in their comparison when you click - shows it costs more to buy together than separate. So funny.

Its a great series if you like the lore and it's still fun just for the combat mechanics. It plays 10x better with an xbox control fyi

This game is worth $100. The Blood and Wine DLC is amazing as well, that on it's own is a $60 game. Wasn't a huge fan of the other DLC.

But yeah, I think this game even surpasses all The Elder Scrolls and Fallout games when it comes to bang for your buck. Only Civ surpsasses it for me. No brainer at this price.

Not my words, I don't want to give false information

The Witcher 3 is getting a Game of the Year Edition

"A Game of the Year Edition would presumably include both of those paid add-ons, as well as all of the game’s free downloadable content."

The Blood and Wine DLC is insanely pretty. Love it. Get this game just for that alone.

If you don't have this game and like 3rd person RPG games just buy it. It's by far the best game I have ever played in image quality and game content + mechanics. The detail in the open world is truly amazing. I have 225 hours into and I am still as hooked as I was at 25 hours. I finished the game and started a new game with New Game + so I could make different choices on that go. Enjoyed it just as much! I just started into Blood and Wine and wow - it's insane how good it looks and the story is excellent.

I bought this yesterday for $25 & played for 1.3 hours last night...

I also got a pop-up from COMUNISTCAST after I DL'd this 35 GB behemoth.

It said - I used 90% of my 1024 GB data & have 101 GB left for the month.

I didn't even know I had a quota. I never had one before. I guess that is a separate topic, but WTF!!!!!!

I'm speechless. $70 /month for 3.5 MB DL's (only get that on STEAM) & they wanna' cut me off - or charge MORE.

Yeah, I bought a lot of games recently & STEAM auto-updates 3-4 games every time I log in but WTF!!!!!!!!

I guess w/ out TV, I watch a lot more youtube, netflix & amazon prime + STEAM.

Anyhoo...

Since I just started W3, should I jump back and play W1 & W2 beforehand?

I might DL' them on August 31 just to max my quota anyway - or burn it all on pornhub!!!!!!

Witcher 1 EE - 15 GB HD - BUY ~ $1.85
Witcher 2 - 25 GB HD - BUY NOW ~ $2.99
Witcher 3 - 35 GB HD - BUY NOW ~ $24.99

Yikes... I should work for STEAM!!!!!!!!

Total HD / DL = 75 GB

not necessary but is always recommended to do at least a run on the witcher 2 before the witcher 3.. mostly because of the character background, to understand and know who is who and why is happening what's happening in the witcher 3 story line.. is good always to know as much as possible about the characters because it can have a dramatic impact on the game feelings..

I finally got some free time and decided to buy this game. Logged into Steam and the sale is over. Logged into Amazon, same thing. I guess its a sign.
