The authenticity of this photo remains questionable, but it does line up with the renders that have been released for one of the upcoming Nexus devices. What is really interesting is that this is supposedly the “premium” device, which already looks awfully plastic and somewhat low-end.

Sigh...we can't win. You can choose cheap plastic one or the "premium" one that's like trying to carry a laptop in your pocket.
Either that or you're forced to settle for an OEM device running a junky launcher and filled to the brim with unremovable bloatware designed in the Jellybean era.
More OEM's (and Google themselves) need an attitude like pre-Lenovo Motorola.

One thing I've learned from my 5x is that with the finger print reader on the back, it is useless most of the time. I thought it would be super useful, it isn't.

Sailfish is the cheaper of the two new Nexus phones. The larger Marlin device is the top phone ans is supposed to be aluminum uni-body. Still a little disappointing to see a plastic Nexus though.

The Nexus 4 was a good looking phone. Nothing wrong with that.

I only ever use my phone while it's in my hand, but I could see how it'd be nearly useless if you didn't.

You mean failfish. Come on HTC, bring back QWERTY phones. I hate touch screen keyboards.

So this just leaked.

  • Marlin and Sailfish share the same basic industrial design and materials. There is no "plastic" phone between the two.
  • We still believe both devices are built by HTC and will have identical specifications aside from screen size, resolution, and battery capacity.

That's the only location I find the fingerprint reader to be useful. My finger naturally lands on it with the G5.

No shit. There couldn't be a better place for that sensor to be. Your hand lands right there when holding the phone. If you are annoyed it's not accessible when the phone is laying down, then get a tablet.

I don't like the print reader on the back, either. It's the only reason I never bought a 6P. I use my phone quite a lot while propped on a stand or lying flat on a desk, table, even my bed.

alot of the rumor sites are all feeder fake news generators. .. all saying released in may, then august, then october for hits. some say one fersion uses 820nsnapdragon, orher 821 others say they both do. some say same camera, battery and others dont.

I've been waiting for the Nexus but after owning a OnePlus 2, I don't think I can go to having the fingerprint sensor on the back. It's just so much more useful and practical on the front. I almost always have the front of the phone available but not the back.
