Drivepool - move disks to different controller?

I've set up a storage pool using Spinrite Drivepool on Server 2012 R2. The drives are hanging off a Z170 motherboard's onboard SATA ports. I'd like to simply move the drives over to a LSI controller. Is Drivepool smart enough to automatically see the same drives, part of the same pool, despite the drives now being presented to the OS through a different controller? Just want to make sure I don't lose my pool and with it many hours/weeks of recreating the data set.

For what it's worth, Drivepool is smart enough to reconstruct a pool from the disks even if they are presented to the OS through a different controller.

The softwate might not have an issue, but your controller card may. If you just plug the drives into the card and treat them as jbod, it should be okay. I am assuming they are not in a RAID set on the z170 but the OS sees them as discreet drives. IGoogle the LSI controller card and see if it will try to reinitialze the drives if they are not in a RAID set. Ensure that there isnt a RAID config on the card before you plug the drives. I have seen default sets built into new cards for some reason (Dell or HP factory configured).

Always a good idea. (In my case I was transferring them to a M1015 with JBOD firmware.)
