I need Tmobile band 12 with voLTE support. The city I live in has terrible signal strength and Im being told by Tmobile that if I have something that supports band 12 then it should be perfect everywhere. Im currently looking at:

Nexus 5x
ZTE Axon Pro
Moto X Pure Edition (2015)

Lg G4 looks to be a good phone and is pretty damn cheap on Swappa...

Bonus you get wifi calling as well. Also LG G4 has 6.0 already. I got a near mint 32GB G4 with leather back for my wife and it was 180$. Condition was 8.5-9/10

LG G4 certified pre-owned through T-Mobile is $249, just to give you another option.

The only issue with the LG G4 (sadly) is the potential of that bootloop issue cropping up - there's no known way to identify it, or any way to predict when it might happen so, it's just something to consider. And I personally find the G4 is as close to my "perfect" smartphone as anything that's been made so far to date including anything available on the market today and in the coming months (based on speculation) but that bootloop issue does exist so it's something to consider even in spite of the G4 being available at pretty low prices these days.

If it's a factory refurb from LG it might be immune to the bootloop issue but there's no way to know that either. :(

I wonder if that repair/replace policy applies to G4's that are outside the factory warranty period which is probably the case. I've been thinking about getting another G4 if one comes along at a great price but that bootloop issue is a cause for concern, at least to me. Now one thing that's pretty common is that most people - and I do mean a vast majority of people - don't ever bother registering their products with the manufacturer(s) which is what locks in the warranty period, so given that the majority of people don't do such a thing and that the G4 is still being produced and sold (in small quantities) if you do eventually choose to get a G4 make sure to register it ASAP to get the warranty period locked in so you'd be eligible for that service if the bootloop issue ends up affecting your device.

They more than likely will give people a pass on the warranty given it's a known issue and it will more than likely happen to most G4 devices out there but it can't hurt to cover all the bases. :D

Well, I actually read about the boot loop issue here along with some other quirky things on the G4. I ended up buying a Moto X Pure (2015) and it should be here in the next day or two.

Worst case scenario, both my wife and I need phones that support band 12. I think Im going to order the G4 either way for her/me depending on if I like the Moto X Pure.

Have a friend that wanted the ZTE Axon 7 badly but wasn't willing to wait for it (even in spite of him having a $77 discount coupon which was even better when the announced the lower than expected pricing), he bought a Moto X Pure instead and so far hasn't had any issues with it. I'm sure if I point out that price at Best Buy he'll be absolutely pissed about it however. :)

Pretty much a slam dunk IMO, other than the slight risk that Lenovo will jump the shark with updates and not give us Nougat. My feeling is there's only a 20-25% chance that happens, though. Otherwise, you're getting a solid, AOSP-based, carrier-agnostic phone comparable to the N6P (slightly inferior in some ways, but a few advantages of its own) for next to nothing. If you value having microSD at all, that really pushes it over the top.

I'd get the Moto X Pure over the OPO3 myself, but then again since Lenovo/Motorola announced they think pushing out the monthly Android security updates is "too difficult" for them to do nowadays, that just makes it easier to not buy anything from Lenovo/Motorola anymore at least for myself. Never liked the OnePlus series, the OPO3 does nothing to change that so far, and the OnePlus X didn't either.

Hell at this point I just might splurge for the DTEK50 from BlackBerry because I'm pretty confident it'll be a fairly rock solid device which is all I really care about. I have a few apps that I've used for years now that require root but since that won't happen on that device I can learn to live with it I suppose. ~$300 is about the max I'm going to lay out for any device again, they're just not worth more than that to me personally, and if a flagship happens along that I do like I'll just have to wait 6+ months till it gets on the used market and get it that way. I'll never buy a flagship on day one at the ridiculous prices companies are asking for them anymore, I don't care what they're capable of or how powerful they are, the prices are just flat out insane.

Great points Tiberian! I'd also prefer to spend less than the absolutely insane amounts that cell phone makers are pushing out now a days. It reminds me of the way prices have changed in the video card industry over the past 10-15 years.

I've got a max budget set at around $400. And it's gotta be a VERY good phone to get me to fork over that amount. The OP3 is very close from what I've seen and read and watched as far as reviews go.

My must haves are:
-very good camera (Hey, I'm a photo bug) that must be at least as good as my Samsung Galaxy S5 or better.
-fast and good at swapping around apps quickly.
-good all day battery life

The OP3 (which I'm using now) is good on all of those points (fast/good swapping apps quickly, good all day battery life) but I wouldn't rave about its camera. Coming from the Nexus 6p, it's definitely a step back in terms of reliable, quality shots. Focus is inaccurate and the night time shots are definitely much noisier.

Also, on T-mobile it doesn't have WiFi calling, but does do B12 VoLTE.
