Diablo 3 Discussion Thread

The one thing I'm a bit confused by is whether greater rifts are becoming harder or easier now that they are a "flat 3% increase per level".

Lol. Blizzard seems to have nerfed Witch Doctors (ring of emptiness) literally at the last second. Monks look super OP, but I don't care for the playstyle and Barbarians are pretty meh. Not even sure which class to play at this point.

Yeah I've never done WD so I was looking into it and hearing things about the changes to ROE.

Been looking for cosmic wings the last part of S6 and in the off-season so we'll go with the builds that get the best speeds.

So I finally made a season crusader. This game is fun! I like the adventure mode a lot. Doing bounties and rifts. Currently level 67.

So how do I get the starter season set? Like exactly what do it do? Turn 70 and its handed to me?

I just made an effort to get Kanai Cube last night. Seriously. What the fuck is that? I have no idea what to do with it. I must find a beginner guide to the cube.

Edit. Found it on the wiki. Of course I've destroyed several legendaries since I wasn't using them anymore. Gah.

You get a gift for completing the Season Journey Chapters 2, 3 and 4. Each gift will show up as a msg down in the lower left hand of the game screen. A gift will give you 2 pcs of the current season set.

So shift-j shows me my progression. I see there are 4 parts. I finished part 1 (chapter 1?) and am working on part 2. So I should make an effort to complete the 4 parts?

Did not know that. Thanks.

If you want the whole armor set for the class you're playing, then yes.

This is my first time doing a season as well. Also went with Crusader. It is kind of refreshing regearing a character from the start.

Achieved rank 580 for Asia leaderboards with the 50M gold streak conquest, and rank 860 for The Thrill conquest.

Which probably would mean that for the second straight season, I will not be attempting to do the GRift 75 solo conquest (of the 5 conquests, that one is the only one I didn't do), so I'll be concentrating my efforts on getting "T13 in 4 minutes" done.

Definitely require better gear though, I only have ancient boots, and I was VERY surprised that I managed to do T12 in 6 minutes, that rift felt like it was 20 minutes. Probably because I am so used to one shotting everything that when elite packs take 5+ multishots to kill, the rift feels extremely long.

Gonna have to try to find some DH sage's farming builds, looking into using S4/sages

What level and build so far?

I'm 67 or 68 and rocking the hammerdin build.
Just dinged 70 tonight. I'm still in Act IV. Been playing on Torment 2 and 3. Also rocking the hammerdin build. I should probably just drop the difficulty level and crank out Act V so I can start adventure or whatever.

Are you guys not on Season?

This is my first season character. I just finished th campaign (as a requirement) a couple of weeks ago.

In case you didn't know, you don't need to complete the campaign to access adventure mode in Season mode. On Non-season, yes, you have to, but you can do that later on in season mode when you have a speed run capable build.

Did not know that. Glad I ran the campaign though. Season 6 had ended, and season 7 was pending.

Yes, if you play non-season, you will have to get it done sooner or later, and an unspoken rule of Diablo games is that all players must play through the entirety of the campaign at least once in their lifetime, without speeding through it.

Yea, this is my first season as well. Figure I'll just crank out the campaign. I could probably do the last act in a night. The game wouldn't feel right if I just went straight to rifts.

Just fooling around and I'm already at paragon 26. My gear is still crap.

I've done a couple of greater rifts. I don't know the correct terms, but level 8 and then level 9. Cleared in time (nothing special, just in time).

Should I just run rifts now? Gear still lacking.

Edit. The reward set is Roland's? I don't like that play style. Should I still grind out to get the rewards? As opposed to running rifts.

Getting the 6 piece will allow you to at least do T6, probably higher. You can then farm that for the set you actually want.

Not sure if I'm "doing it right", but on my non season WD all I do are rifts. Topped out at level 59 or 60 rift. I think level 60 is the equivalent of playing on Torment VIII.

Wait. What? I didn't know rifts went that high! I thought 12 was the max, at least that is what I see on my screen.

Now it makes sense.

When you beat 12, 13 will be available. Some people have cleared 100+.

I can't get the UE Dungeon Master completed. Tried a dozen or so times this morning. Sometimes I'll get good density in the right places and others they are spread out too far that I can't hit 20 with 1 MS hit.

Sometimes set dungeons are easier with help, especially once you clear the specific requirements and all that's left is to kill dudes.

I have plenty of time left when I am done, I just can't get the 6 20hits with an MS shot. I use the speed belt and bracers to get around faster.

I just had a thought. I am going to cube the boots that allow you to run through enemies, maybe I can corral them up a bit better.

To get crafting mats I need to do bounties. Should I up the difficulty to torment? Right now I'm doing it in expert. Just for bounties.

If you are doing bounties solely for the Seasonal requirement or just for the mats, if you find yourself needing to perform more than a few attacks in white mobs in Torment, drop it down to NORMAL.

Normal ~ Expert all have the same crafting mats in the caches. Torments that it starts getting higher, and only certain Torments have 'break points', as in only at that level would the mats increase in rewards.

I can't remember the exact progression, but here is a list of the rewards you'd get with the difficulties:

I would suggest that, if you have not gotten the Haedrig's gifts for your seasonal character yet, use the absolute lowest difficulty setting the season journey requires, and then use the haedrig's set to farm for stuff you need later down the line, you'd save more time that way.

UE actually benefits more from friends clumping up the spiders for you, than clearing the dungeon.

UE's dungeon is pretty circular, with very little hidden path and dead ends, and most of them can be reached by firing multishot in their direction, so killing everything in the time limit is actually pretty trivial for your run of the mill UE multishot.

It's the "Kill 20 enemies in 1 multishot 6 times" requirement that can be RNG. I was fairly lucky I got this done during my 5th or 6th attempt overall (the first 2 attempts I found that I wasn't capable of killing the large spiders in 1 shot, so I went back, leveled my gems and crafted hellfire, came back and got it done after 3 more tries).

I fucking hate that set dungeon. I always do the Marauders set dungeon instead assuming you are only doing it for the journey. It is pretty easy to master as long as you pay attention to the sound of rock worms coming up.

I finished the season journey tonight somewhere around paragon 635. I must have rerolled my Yangs 12+ times and I still don't have an ancient. I might continue trying to grind one out but we'll see. I'm already at 1.5 million DPS without one but four player t13 rifts are still a chore. It might be time for a break from Diablo and time to play some more Overwatch.

I did UE because I already did Marauders and Natalya from before, so it was either UE or Shadow, since I need to do them anyway.

I am currently working on getting the Augments (the first season journey part to require augment, I believe it's Champion?), and even when wearing my 100CHD/10CHC hellfire, I still can't reach 1M sheet DPS.

I have no idea if I can do T13 in 4 mins without an Ancient yang, so I have been devoting some of my time to come up with a shadow/sages set for farming DB's (T12 and T13 are absolutely horrendous for farming anything specific, even uber organs or machines). So far I have managed to come up with a build using rather suboptimal stats that can kill T8 packs with 1 FoK, I am using the Hatred instead of Cooldown rune, rather than the LoN FOK lightning one, simply because 16 seconds is WAY too long for DB farming.

I will consider it once I get an In-Geom though, right now I am using Devastator with the dagger cubed (the dagger itself would rely far too much on having a high buff stack, something I found to be impractical when you are basically vaulting from 1 pack to the next, one shotting that, picking up the DB and continue.

The build seems to work, but definitely needs work.

Got it earlier this evening. you don't have to Kill 20 enemies in one shot, you just have to hit 20 enemies with shot.

Hardcore?

(Just noticed you put Amethyst in the helm rather than the usual Diamond).

Normal. I'll put the diamond in soon, just haven't needed CDR lately.

You always want CDR. Having permanent vengeance should be a goal. Not only does it keep your hatred up but those extra rockets do a lot of damage. If you want to link your profile I could give more insight.
