Post Your Workstations 2016

Hmm, well this is how the other half lives :(. Temporary desk made out of wooden planks and bricks and, yes, I have pantyhose on my computer air-intakes. I have no shame.

No shame, but you have a Revox R2R!

Nothing wrong with a little DIY solution like cinder blocks and wood sheets. I've seen $10k setups that look like their desk belonged next to a pig's feeding trough.

What matters is that it is clean, which is more than can be said about most workstations. You devoted time and effort to making it look nice given what you had available to you. If it's clean, it means you take pride in it and its deserving of respect from everyone else.

I guess I could've cleaned up a bit better. This is my temporary setup, probably going to move in the next few weeks, at which point I'll go back to my real desk that I much prefer the look of, a glass top with black accents.

I would suggest monitor arms, anchored to either the desk or the wall. Would save a ton of space in this instance, especially if he has some uses that require desk space and only one monitor.

Why not?

The only thing I find wrong with the setup is he probably needs to find a way to reclaim desk space with some monitor mounts. The monitor on the far left is running out of space to sit.
yeah that's what I mean. There is no space at all and actually... why 4 monitors?

That is a beautiful case. Love the color scheme.

Case is sitting on (4) large sofa feet. Used a 8ft $30 door from home Depot as a table that I painted w/ Black lacquer, it's ankered to the wall on one side and other side uses a ikea bookshelf. Turned out to be an awesome strong workspace, it's very smooth feeling and I like resting my arms on the table, easier to do large sweeping motions with the mouse.

I'm only running 19 fans ATM, I should probably add one more 200mm on the front panel to hit a even 20 fans total lol :p. It's actually surprisingly quite, It runs eeerly silent with most the fans running close to 500 rpm. Temps are amazing my 980ti@1500mhz runs at 23c idle and 49c load and my i7@5ghz runs at 32c idle and 52c load on air using a lapped hyper 212 w/ a low rpm Gelid push/pull setup.

1x200mm exhaust (front fan, removes hot air from gpu radiator)
6x140mm exhaust (bottom/rear, for gpu radiator and rears for cpu and memory/mobo)
9x120mm intake (top fans, w/ 2 in push/pull on gpu radiator)

Sure are. Currently really enjoying them for what is considered "entry level" bookshelf speakers.

Guess I should'a read your sig more closely. I'm thinking about a pair of Zensors, but it's hard to find them anywhere to audition.

Well, I have moved things around a bit since last year and added some new LED lighting.

For the ambient lighting behind my monitor, I have a Philips Hue Bloom:
Philips 259515 Friends of Hue Personal Wireless Lighting Bloom Single, Retail - - Amazon.com

For the case lighting, I got an NZXT Hue+ lighting kit, so I can change the colors in my case too. :)

This is my current main system. Just getting ready to tear it down to build the new one. Thought I'd get some shots before I do.

hardly anywhere near as neat or nice as any of you.... but here it is

this is my living room, sold my 144hz monitor to pay some bills, stuck with only usb 15.6" monitor, and a 39" emerson 1080p 60hz tv (with a ungodly long response time...but I still quake)

What do you have planned?

I'm moving up to a 6800K, X99. HX850i, 32GB DDR4 3000MHz, Noctua D15s, Phanteks Enthoo Pro M, Samsung Evo 950 Pro M.2 SSD and some of the Corsair ML series fans. I haven't decided on a new GPU yet, waiting to see what Vega has to offer and considering the 1060 as well when we have more info. Then I'm moving some parts over like the HDD, optical, and sound card. I'll use the old GPU until I pick a new one. Then I'll move that to my Mame machine.

What board are you looking at for the X99? I have the EVGA X99 Classified and I'm extremely happy with it.

I didn't want to spend much more than about $200 on the mobo, which limited my options. I ended up going with the Asus X99A.

I have the Water Pump and most of the fans turn on when either switch/motherboard is on. The Phantek Power Splitter is great for this.
