Craigslist finds

Ah, I recall back in the day it was the interns jobs to stack cubicles to ceiling with new or old parts, and get 2nd pick of leftovers/used parts that the engineers/etc didn't want.

It was amazing what was "churned" in the time of upgrade. Amazed me.

Now I know why people sell $2k UPS on craigslist for $300. Leftover from work 100% profit, lol.

Work did that with a switch they tossed. I go a hold of it, consoled in, low level formatted the ROM of sorts, uploaded the stock ROM image and off it was working.

Just got s asus g46vw that wouldn't power on for $75.

Charger was faulty and got a new one on the way, so new laptop for me :)

Picked up an AMD combo today for $200, new and unopened parts (won in an NCIX contest, apparently):

FX-8370e
XFX R9 285
2 x 4g AMD R9 Gaming Series 2133 DDR3 memory

Not a bad price. Looking forward to a Team Red build for a change.

Trying to figure out AMD motherboards now.
I've got an NZXT 210 Source Case and XFX TS 550 PSU in the closet, and I'm sure I can dig up a drive.

Many deals to be had on CL at the same time I quite often see items being listed for MSRP or above lol!

Yea like this :

Gaming computer - $1000.00
Coolermaster HAFx Case
Intel I5 2500k CPU
MSI GD 65 Z77 Gaming Board
EVGA 1000 watt G2 Power supply
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
2TB Seagate Hard drive
8 GBs Corsair Vengeance 1600 RAM
Corsair H80 Liquid cooler
Artic Hydro 2 GPU cooler
2x Evga GTS 450 GPUs in SLI
6 postion Fan control
ASUS DVD/CD Burner
5 Yate Loon 120mm blue fans
1 Yate Loon 140mm blue fan
2 200mm Fans red

Reboot of this thread... maybe will spur some interesting conversation ;)

Picked up an XBOX One, the 1tb model, with 3 games, two wireless official controllers, charging stations for each, and the Turtle Beach X12 Artic headphones for a mere $200! Everything works really well. Will be a gift for my son.

It was either this, or a PS4, sans controllers (had all wires, and interestingly GTA V (considering no controllers)), for $180.

Other good, recent finds from CList...

- Pentax K-1000 with 3 lenses, and another Pentax body for $25.
- Canon Rebel SL1 with the 18-55 lens, missing the charger. 250 clicks, in mint condition. $120.
- Canon Rebel XTi with 2 lenses, battery grip, 3 batteries, charger, works great, $80.
- Nikon D40X with the 18-135mm lens, Works perfect, $50.
- Nikon D3200 w/18-55 lens, only 6 clicks on the camera, traded for an old Note 2 phone (valued around $100).
- Nikon D7000 w/18-55 lens, bag, charger, battery. Camera had 25k on the shutter. $100.
- Canon Powershot G10, mint... $50.
- Canon SX260 HS, like new condition, $40.
(Think I have GAS for the camera gear?? LOL)

- Vizio soundbar with subwoofer, works perfect, $40.
- Fallout 4, Call of Duty Advanced Warfare, and Black Ops II for PC, all for a grand total of $25.
- Ipad Air 16gb with a blue case, mint condition with charger and lightning cable, $140.

Those are what I remember right now... I know there is more, just can't think of them at the moment.

Call Dell with the serial number and/or wait for the police to show up when you go online.

It's a $1200-$1350 laptop (felony level theft). It was just announced at CES2015 earlier this month and just released. Do you honestly believe it's not stolen?

I'm pretty sure a huge majority of my DSLR glass was stolen lol. In NYC though so a lot of aggressive pricing for Canon lenses. I could give two damns though since I've saved a ton. Even beating out Canon refurb sales.

Last year I found and bought a 42U rack with doors for $175. Really heavy duty, capable of holding 350lbs of gear. They threw in for free a 48 port patch panel, 4 PDUs, and an Asante IntraCore IC3724 PWR POE switch. The switch alone sells for $350 on ebay used. He would've given me 6 IP phones if they hadn't had any bids on ebay.

All came from a legal office that was relocating to a bigger place. Thank goodness they had an elevator! The bastard weighs over 200lbs!

I wouldn't be surprised if some of the DSLR stuff I have acquired through Craigslist wasn't at least questionable... but I didn't question it either :D

Nice find, wra18th!! I once bought a lot of phones, and servers off of a State Hospital (filled up half my garage). Made a killing on it!

Not bad!

Just today I picked up a pc...

Specs:
i5 6600k
EVGA 650w GQ PSU
PowerColor PCS+ R9 390
Cooler Master 212 Evo
Enermax white case meh condition
Samsung optical drive burner/player
GIGABYTE GA-Z170XP-SLI Motherboard
2x4GB Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR4 2400MHz

No hdd/ssd although there was 3 SATA cables connected to motherboard.

He was asking $650 text yesterday asked lowest price? Came back at $500 offered $400 said if no one else replies he'd let me know tomorrow.

So we meet ad said build was 2 months old but way too much dust build up for only 2 months old, maybe GPU because it was the cleanest most dust free part in his build. Also said there was 3 antec fans in there one was an antec, another was a taped/spliced cooler master, and the last was an enermax white led fan. Ad also said all boxes and box contents included.... not a single box! So we agreed on $350 and the other $50 contingent on him delivering all boxes pictured in his ad.

Took it home and fired right up booted into UEFI verified CPU/RAM all seems okay but a lot of testing to go.

Hot or not? Let me know what you guys think!

Damn you did good! All those little things that need work should be very easy to do. Cleaning is nothing. You got a killer deal!

amazing deal

Man you guys are brave....

I hardly deal on CL anymore. What is it that Obi Wan says about Mos Eisley Station in Star Wars? Something about a wretched hive of scum and villainy? :D

Although I guess when you're buying it's a little bit safer. Some great deals!

Just got a brand new PNY CS1311 480GB SSD for $50. Tested it on the spot. Flawless. https://images.craigslist.org/00404_lMD7NkGAjO0_1200x900.jpg

Replaces a Toshiba 1TB spinner on a 3770K PC with an Asus P8Z77 WS MB, EVGA 750 SC (already sold for $80), and 23" Viewsonic 1080P screen I traded a 5 year old ASUS laptop for. It had the stock Intel HS fan so I snagged a Corsair H110 for $60. All via CL.

And if nothing else, you can always meet some nice people for free. I met so many nice people from western Africa when I listed my laptop. I even got to send this one a picture I drew.

It's not from Craigslist but similar, from LetGo. Bought a Yoga 14 for $400 new in box.

I5-5200u, 8 GB Ram, 1TB Hybrid Drive.

Seemed good to me since new is ~$1k

A week or so ago I picked up a Corsair Obsidian 750D full tower case for $50. It's almost as big as my 1 bedroom condo. It was missing the front fans, but came in the box and is in great shape.

Didn't know we had one of these threads...best recent find is a 6 month old Corsair AX1500i with the Corsair sleeved cables (but missing some of the original cables) for $170. Got the guy to give me a copy of his receipt for it too, so I should be covered for the remaining 9 year warranty =)

It's complete overkill for what I have now, as it pulls a max of 430-440W under load...but it was too good of a deal to resist.

i've been seeing mostly junk, and stuff near or above msrp, always on the look out for a great deal.

on topic, found 32gb of mixed ddr3 ram for 10 bucks.

Picked up a Dell U2413 for $70 today. No dead or stuck pixels.

Hell, my mom has you all beat. Couple moving out of an apartment in Northlake, IL. $5,000 in solid oak furniture. They'd had it on Craigslist for weeks and couldn't get anyone to buy because they needed to pick it up (heavy shit) and had only 2 more days to get rid of it.

Luckily, this is what my mother has three sons (and a husband) for.

$200.

I find deals all the time on CL. I also give them too so it evens out. Recently gave away my stock Toyota Tacoma suspension for free because I lifted my truck. The guy who got it was thrilled and his truck really needed it. I do believe in karma :) My dad once got an Aeron chair for 6 bucks because the hydraulic mechanism was faulty. Basically you have to stand up for it to raise. Who cares... He still uses it. :p

My most recent were:

3570k (now at 4.6GHz)
Cooler Master Evo
ASRock Z77 Extreme 4
Corsair Vengeance Pro Series 2x8GB 1866MHz
Corsair CX500 PSU
Corsair Carbide 300r
All for 150!

On Thursday picked up Zotac AMP Edition GTX 1070 with box and all original contents for $220!

Man, my truck needs it replaced too. I bottomed out when I lugged an old arcade unit for a friend.

What year Tacoma? Mine's a 2003. Might I suggest getting an Old Man Emu suspension complete suspension? Took me about 8 hours to install but is a night and day difference conpared to the stock TRD. I've fallen in love with my truck all over again.

2005. I'm still in the wait for my replacement frame to arrive to Alaska. Love this thing but recently I've been getting issues. Not enough that I think I need a new truck, but enough to annoy me.

Right now I'm lugging about 500lbs of crap in the back bed because I'm storing stuff for winter. I can definitely feel that the suspension is not what it use to be. I kinda regret lugging such a heavy load that one time.

We need to post up more treasures.

I went to a yard sale and bought some guy's box of playstation 1 games. I wasn't too interested but he was willing to let it go for $20.

Bunch of crap games overall but the real treasure was:

-Tales of Destiny 2 (flipped on ebay for $100)
-Valkyrie Profile (flipped on ebay for $90)

The rest I sold as a big lot for $60.

Just bought a Dell Latitude E7470, 14" anti-glare 1080p, i7-6600, 8GB DDR4, 256GB M2 SSD, finger print reader option, wireless smart card reader option, and the cellular SIM card option. Bought it for $350 and it has 2 years and 8 months left on the warranty. A mother sold it to me because her son requires a Macbook for his program.

Whats funny is I just bought a Dell Latitude E7470 from Carl224 here and it arrived less than 24 hours ago. Now I gotta hide one of these or else my gf will be furious (again...).

Trust me women will always be mad at something you do just except it don't argue with them ever and move on.

I picked up a microcell (newer black model) from an older lady for $20.

She even printed out the whole microcell manual (in color inkjet!) as well as proof of ownership and it was no longer active on her account.

This will be handy for my uncle who lives out in the middle of nowhere.

---------

I also picked up a MSI GTX 660 Ti 3GB for $30. Flipped on ebay for $105 the same night.

Got this Quad Core Early 2009 Mac Pro with dual 5770 1GB cards just now for $50.
The guy said their was a problem with the hard drive and will not boot. But after I checked, it didn't have a hard drive at all.

Then I used the Metro Vacuum ED500P to clean it up and here it is.
I randomly searched my local CL after talking about this tower in an Apple thread here.

With an external hard drive I was able to boot the Mac Pro.

I also discovered that it's actually a mid-2010 Mac Pro, 2.8 Quad.
This is the last post about this, but my plans are to install a 980Ti and maybe a 6 or 12 core 64GB upgrade.

Here's a photo of it installing macOS Sierra.
