No idea what i'm doing wrong. Server shows up under LAN but not under internet....

pfsense is set to port forward, and windows firewall has inbound and outbound exception for the server .exe

still no dice :/
 
Ahhhh, just transferred my character to the new free DLC map....Cool starting with nothing but my skills and stats in a mysterious new land...like twice as big as The Island I believe with new biomes, ruins, and ???

OK, I jumped online today to get some hide & make some leather clothes & then try to level up.

I was hunting in the dark & some dude just magically appeared in front of me (he was on a bird & just landed by my torch).

Turns out he is a really cool guy named ZEUS on ARK & DJER (Jurrasic Park icon) on STEAM.

He has a pretty damn big, advanced group / clan on that little island & he asked if we want to become allies.

He gave me a flying tour of his clans buildings & they are already very advanced.

They plan to control that entire little island before making a run @ The Center.

I think it will be to our advantage to join forces w/ them!

Nah I run on one monitor 1440p

I took screenshots with msi-ab but couldn't find them for some reason, game looks amazing

By default they're at C:\Users\Public\Pictures or something like that and not your own user account's pictures (dumb, I know).

Yeah I know, but for the past few days it doesn't seem to have been working, god knows why, but I finally fixed the steam overlay not working in Ark.

It was msi-ab
 
Hi guys. I've been busy w/ a new contract gig recently.

I see GOD'SlittleSERVANT // DemGainz (STEAM NAME) has been busy on the !MonkyMadness server.

I've been playing Just Cause 3 ($15!) this week because it is easy to jump in & get to the next level where as ARK is really a slog.

I jumped on to look around today & lost everything as soon as I stepped outside of the fort... to fucking SPIDERS. WTF.

Anyone else playing lately?

This game any good from what I see you spend lots of hours on it the Reviews of the game have me twisted. The game is still Mega popular on Steam it shows no signs of slowing down.
I see a couple Youtube videos from what I seen looks very cool.
 
Fantastic game if you have a LOT of time to spend gathering resources and leveling up & learning how to "craft" & build stuff .

Be aware that you need to make every effort to NEVER EVER EVER EVER DIE or you loose everything.

If the game is on sale at your price point, I say YES - try it!

RE: price point... I've played 63 hours and I'm still basically naked since I die frequently.

I paid $25 on sale & it's only $16.50 today - so if you look at hours played vs. money spent - I'm happy!
 
IDK if your level follows you across diff. servers and I have tried several diff. servers.... so... IDK?

It's only $16.50 today so if you play 16.5 hours, that is $1 per hour for some very worthwhile entertainment.

It seems to be totally worth it for many of us here...
 
Just play on a server with a xp/gather multiplier, it's so much faster and less punishing
 
How does this compare to Rust? I guess my biggest thing is are there as many hackers? If not I definitely want to check it out I just got fed up with all the botters in Rust.
 
I picked this up (Steam Sales and alcohol are bad for my wallet). I sent a few friend invites to some of you from this thread in case you see them. Steam name Yippee38.

Looking forward to trying this online.

Did the SLI tweak and the recommended tweaks listed above. It's pretty slow on my system though. 7680x1440 requires me to turn most everything down to High, and even then, it's still only giving me framerates in the high 20s (and doesn't look great). Finally figured out the basics though. It's fun.

I updated my signature with my system specs (I copied, pasted, and modified yours. hehe). Our systems are very similar other than the video cards and monitors. I'm still trying to find usable settings in this game. On Epic, it's a slideshow. I could play it on one screen, but I like the additional situational awareness that the side screens provide. I'm very happy that they render those screens separately, rather than as one image. There isn't the huge stretching I see on games like Skyrim on the side monitors.
Here's a link to a screenshot. I don't want to include the screenshot here, as it's big. It looks pretty good with this setting, but like I said, it's pretty unplayable. I don't care for the water though. It looks like mercury. It's far too shiny.
