EVGA Step Up Get the 1080 Founders Edition vs ACX 3.0 Whats best?

Thanks sk3tch, I'm going to give afterburner a shot. Ill repost in the 1080 overclocking thread if i get better results.

Cool. Be sure to go into Settings > General and check "Unlock voltage control" - also go to Settings > User Interface and browse the options. I don't like the default UI, personally.

It's confusing as hell, but you should play around with the GPU boost 3.0 as well-- hit CTRL-F inside MSI afterburner. Dragging any point with shift held down will move the entire curve up or down, but that's offset overclocking. What you want to do is hold control and drag the right side up, which gives additional voltage to higher clocks.

You will also want a custom fan curve-- the default curve keeps my 1080 SC below 70C under load, but I find the fan very quiet up to 80%, so I nudged it up a bit for lower temps. Note that the default curve has the fan completely off until like 40C, and you will need to preserve that in the custom fan curve as afterburner doesn't do that by default.

I got the 1080 FE installed and will start O/C it once I overclock my 5930K. I can't believe I still have not done that on my ASus Rampage V

That's a great setup jzodda! I have the FE edition and had wanted that or the FTW edition :-(. Already started using it, but great find!
