So I was playing Doom today and the I was curious to hear how the fan sounded under load and I heard some huge clipping sound. So I turned off my pc and took out the gpu and spun the fans gently and i heard some clipping. I examined more and could see that the fan is clipping a huge wire that is under the fan. I tried to push the fan back ever so slightly and there isn't really any room for the wire to go. The cliping seems to have stopped and the fan seems to be cleared from the wire but this seems like a missed quality control issue. Here are some pictures.

I personally don't believe an RMA is necessary for that issue. I'd still contact eVGA support but it seems to me all that is needed is to move the wire to where the fan blade isn't hitting it.

Oh Jesus, another one of these people who spam and troll multiple forums not listening to anyone :(
Excuse me but I was trying to get more advice on my problem. Is that ok? I listened to all the advice. What's it to you? Am I stealing from anybody or doing anyone wrong here?

In the EVGA thread is doesn't look like you took anyone's advice :p

Did you RMA the card?

If I was you, I would wait for the cards to be readily available, then RMA the card and you shouldn't have to worry about much downtime.

Actually he could RMA it right now. EVGA always keeps stock on hand for RMAs. This stock is separate from what they sell or ship to etailers and doesn't get sold, it's only for RMAs. So they most likely have a brand new card for him right now. I'd do it right away because if you RMA a card with EVGA in the first 30 days of purchase you will be guaranteed to receive a BNIB card. If it's longer than 30 days, you might get a refurb. Probably not likely with a 1080 right now, but you never know. Just RMA the card right away. It's the best and really only course of action to take.
