Take a little while to read their RMA stories.

That goes for any and every SSD (or anything, for that matter) manufacturer. You'll always find more pissing and moaning about abnormal cases than typical cases and zero-incident/praise.

People are usually more inclined to storm the internet to write a negative review when they feel poorly treated than they are when a problem happens but treated satisfactorily or to just simply write a good review when nothing bad happens.

Nah, it doesn't go for any and every SSD mfg. You haven't bothered to look into it. Like I said, go look at their RMA stories (and my RMA went fine). Read on their forums and read the reviews, there's a very specific problem which I think you'll be able to pick up on.

I'm with you on the fact that unsatisfied customers are over-represented in a general sense. That's just not the case here.

I personally like them as much as Samsung after owning both, but maybe that is just me. I have had no problems with my Crucial or any of the others I know of. They have also been supporting hardware encryption with power loss protection (even if its effectiveness is debatable) while Samsung took a while to get to hardware based encryption. The new 850 drives for sure support hardware encryption so I would not mind picking one up for the right price.

For me, I don't see why this Crucial would be a bad choice. If it was 2tb+ at even twice the price, I would not hesitate buy one right but 1tb is no longer large enough for my needs.

Yeah OK...as an IT Field Tech and Warranty Provider, I RMA just about component imaginable. SSDs are no exception, and most of our units are equipped with Samsung and Intel drives.

I mean, this would be a good opportunity to counter with your experience RMA'ing old Crucial SSDs, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Never had to RMA a Crucial SSD so I cannot comment. But maybe that says something.

I've had really good success with Corsair SSDs; a few months ago, I needed to RMA a mouse with Corsair and I had zero issues with the RMA process. It sounds like a single person had a bad experience and is actively trying to poison Corsair for the rest of us.

Where did you see Corsair? This is a Crucial ssd not Corsair!

I personally have never RMA'd a Crucial drive, business or consumer. All the Crucial SSDs I own (M4 256GB, MX100 256GB, MX200 1TB) are all going strong.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Serious question, is there a fault with this line and is their RMA as bad as ASUS? I've bee using two Crucial SSDs, including 500GB MX200 for a while with no issues but its always good to know if there are any I should be aware of.

No, and no.

The only Crucial product (out of a fuckton that I've owned or installed for family/friends) I've ever had to RMA was a 2 DIMM DDR2 set. Provided the proof of purchase (copy of the invoice), shipped everything to them, and had a replacement in just under 2 weeks.

We have over a hundred of the MX100 and MX200's deployed. Haven't had a problem with a single one.

The product line, who knows, but the RMA process can screw you pretty badly once the device is a little old.

The forums and online reviews have bad stories about people getting screwed on SSD RMA.
My RMA went fine because it was a new product, but it's the people with older devices that get hosed.

Price bumped - $279.95 prime shipping. Not a huge increase, and still a decent deal since this typically hovers around $300-360.

Watch for further discounts, since these may go on sale when the new MX300 hit the shelves in droves.

These are probably going to maintain their price in comparison to the MX300 since the MX200 is faster in everything. MX300's only advantage is reduced power consumption.

bad stories about people getting screwed on SSD RMA.

thats unfortunate, but crucial/micron are going to continue to have my support until they do something worse than mishandle cases while they sort out their SSD RMA process. they make absolutely great products, & as clint would say, "kill ya to buy american?"

But seriously..I have had several Crucial SSD's had no trouble with them....

I have also had to RMA a few things from NEWEGG....had very good Exp doing it..no Problems at all

I'd rather go for brand and speed and sacrifice a on space

Jet.com has Samsung 950 pci. M.2 512 for $309 with code ANDROID15....but that's just me

how good an MX200 is ? i have 1 samsung 850 pro 500GB

Samsung and Intel are usually agreed upon as the top rated SSDs for reliability. Personally, from my own experience, I'd place certain models of Crucial SSDs very close to them. The MX200 being one of them.

realy i like the storage capacity but i get use to the speed on the samsung XD
sure i have to try one but with the M2 speed are hard to chooce on T_T

You won't be able to tell much, if any, difference in speed between the 850 Pro and MX200 in typical home/gaming use.

If you are using it in a special-use system like a content creation/editing or small office file server with a continuously high amount of sustained reads and writes, then I'd stick with a Samsung Pro series SSD. But that's more for the extended warranty of 10 years vs the MX200 3 year, even though the TBW endurance for both are around the same.

Hell of a deal. If I needed a new drive, I'd be on this ASAP.
I'm on my 3rd Crucial SSD and all of them are still going strong. Only reason I've had 3 is because I just needed more space.
For normal desktop (and gaming) use, you aren't going to be able to tell much performance difference between any of the models. At least unless you're putting something brand new against a 1st gen model.
SSD performance for most people is measured by either having one or not.
