AMD Live Webcast From Computex 2016

Now let's wait for some OC results.

I might regret my pair of R9 290 with fullcover EK blocks for 450 Canadian in total after all.

At least I didn't pre-order the GTX 1080, ROFLMAO :D

LOL! ... That's a good price with waterblocks in CAD even after Polaris announcement!

Ugh, crossfire is in a sad state right now along with SLI. You guys have fun with that.

$199 and 150W. Sounds like it's going to thrash the 1070 if nVidia doesn't drop prices.

My only hope is that AMD puts some serious effort into pushing CFX as a viable option.

dude that's not bad at all.
and no shit about the 1080 $855-952CAD!

edit: if you really do regert those cards, I bet you could flip 'em to some gree-ee-ee-eeasy crytominer for a profit

So according to them: 300W of these cards bests a single 1080, at 180W, in a single DX12 benchmark. What an accomplishment.

At $200 less with apparently only 58% utilization, let's not forget those key points. ;)

Don't believe any of the hype until we get to see actual real benchmarks outside of an AMD-controlled environment. Until that time I'm skeptical.

Overall the RX 480 looks to be a very solid deal at $199. But it was a mistake to bring the GTX 1080 into the mix; those two cards shouldn't ever be compared. That honestly hurt their presentation more than anything in my eyes.

Its only a furnace if it can not walk the walk.

Technically a Titan card also make a great furnace...but it also brings the framerates...

But the 58% utilization could be because it use 16GB vram from 2 cards.. not 1 card utilization. and it really is about $100 cheaper than nvidia non founder edition

Comparing a $199 part competitive to a $700 part... nice touch IMHO!

150w x 2 sounds like another furnace in my room.

Yeah I was wondering when Raja was going to address this.
150W sounds great - if it was a single GPU solution.
If you need, however, two GPUs to match an nVidia solution - that is 300W+ we are talking about. No longer is it an efficient solution.
Price efficient (if we are being as optimistic as Raja), but not power efficient, by any means.

AMD loves comparing to halo products - both on CPU/GPUs. Doesn't surprise me that they compared their $199 offering to the FE 1080 pricing haha.

Yep. This has left me scratching my head. It probably is a great card for the money.. but somebody made a stupid call allowing the 1080 comparison when it has nearly the same TDP.

AMD showing off quite a few partners here... Microsoft... and even Dell!

Who would've thought Dell...

Wow, I am disappoint.

With all the recent leaks, I would've thought this would have much better specs on paper. Looks to be on par with 390x all things considered.

Interesting that they showed off a $199 card and claim that there will be products in the $100 to $300 range.

Ha ha that is better than Nvidia's demo fiasco. At least they finally got that to work. I have a big Zen logo on my screen and no stream.

As much as it is tempting to get a pair of 480 over a single 1080, I would probably still fork out that $200 or so for a single 1080, given what I have experienced with SLI (no experience with Crossfire, so I am using SLI as a baseline).

However, this is a personal preference. 980 performance for 960 price is going to rock some socks. Now I need to talk my friend out of taking up my offer of selling him one of my 970 lol.

I can believe this... but I wonder by how much the 1080 spanks a single R480 in everything NOT direct X 12 and by how much?

Probably by a lot, considering it's a $700 card against a $200 card. Might as well ask how well a Ferrari can spank a Honda Civic across the line.

So $200 is for 4 GB, ~$250 for 8 GB? 390 to 390X performance? This gets less and less impressive as time goes on.

Well at least they have 8gb versions, no one can complain about that now.
