I just built a new system and am looking for some feedback on my temperatures and settings.
I would like to target 4.6ghz on my 6700k but am not sure what options in the BIOS to change.
Motherboard is Asus Sabertooth Z170 Mark 1.

I installed a Corsair H80i GT yesterday and and ran Intel Extreme Tuning Utility for 15 mins.

Max Temp briefly was around 66C. Idle is 27-32.
Corsair Pump and Fan is set to "Performance" profile.

Does that look OK?

I would like to have my overclock not keep the same voltage 24\7 but drop back down when idle I belive it is called an offset? It has been many years since I have overclocked. Can someone give me some pointers?

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. I might try that at some point but I think I would like to fine tune it and overclock using the BIOS for the time being. I am reading some guides on what few changes to make.

Ok So I went into BIOS and entered Manual Mode with Voltage Offset and 1.35V and bench marks again . Max Temp was 77C in bench-marking. Going to slowly start dropping the voltage 0.005V and see how it goes.

How is this guys?

4.6Ghz @ 1.295V in BIOS with 0.08V Offset = 1.329V in CPUZ in Windows. Temps seem stable hovering around 60C Spike to 80C on 1 core was max.

Looks good on the CPU side, but! Memory is pretty bad I think, DDR4 @ 2100MHz?
When it comes to Intel, with your set up, I would've gone with DDR4 3000 at least (or 1,500MHz).

Anyhow, as in the old days when you had to do it manually and on air, a max of 600mhz overclock was easily attainable, this is not different now and I'd say let the AISuite do the overclocking for you and let XMP run your memory at the highest possible speed. You'll still get to 4.6GHz, or even 4.7, with pretty much the same Vc.

My RAM in my 4690K CPU is running at 1,200Mhz continuously when it is and it's not the CPU at its full speed.

Ahh BS. I had a 24/7 stable OC on a Prescott D back in the day @ +1GHz. Can't find much evidence to back up claim anymore, seeing as how the Club Overclocker website is now defunct. I was a staff reviewer there. I wrote the FIRST power supply review featuring ripple measurements, among other now standard details. It was in a Demon 550w PSU.

Anyway, this run was done with shitty cooler. I don't recall what it was now, but it was somewhere between the Intel box and whatever $50 offering from Zalman had.
