[H]OT DEAL: Acer Recertified Monitors Back In Stock (X34 Predator $730, XR341CK $600 and more)

Would you keep or return based on the tiny crack? OC's to 165hz fine and has been playing diablo and the division all day.

Return it. Not to mention other things could start acting up later because of that. A cracked screen is a big no-no. Would you accept a huge patch of dead pixels in the upper right of the screen? That's essentially what you have.
 
+1 to returning it.

It could potentially lead to other unknown issues sooner or later. Seems like they've been working on their packaging issues so you'll get a good one sooner or later. It's also not some sort of rare monitor that is no longer in mass production like a collector's car or one of those Sony CRTs.

Hell fucking no, they would have to give me a 50% discount to even consider it.
 
Ordered a 270HU BPRZ instead. 144hz vs 165hz I am not sure I can even see the difference.
 
I went ahead and joined the Acer XB1 musical chair madness. I just placed an order earlier today before it went OOS on their ebay store. Let's see how my first one goes!
 
The packaging is a lot better then when I bought my first two a month ago. The damaged one actually came out of the perfect looking box and the flawless one came out of a partially open box. The odds look a lot better now.

Yeah I was reading the whole thread. It seems like they cleaned up their act later in the month and started to package them better. I'm hoping I get a well packaged one and more importantly, a GOOD defect free one.
 
Happy to report my x34 arrived safe and sound. No dead pixels, some backlight bleed at the edges. Not sure how easy it would be to adjust considering the way the monitor is constructed. Touching lightly at the edge i can see the bleed shift, but i'll deal with it for now. Normal IPS glow at the sides, obvious in a dark room, barely noticeable during regular use. February 2016 build. Waiting on a better displayport cable to test OC, hit max 80hz with the included one. gets flakey at 85, so we'll see what a quality cable can do.
 
My x34 also arrived undamaged in a brown box version of the retail packaging. The plastic was still on the monitor and stand.

There's more BLB near the top left corner than I'd like but I can live with it. 100hz has worked in the couple hours I've used it.

It feels great to use it after my productivity Dell U3415W made my XB270HU feel like 4:3.

I bought xb1 and got it setup, looks great with no problems. I might be the luckiest person at this moment.

It's up right now on acerrecertified.com for $749. They also have the freesync xr341ck for $599

Grabbed a bytecc 10ft displayport cable from Fry's last night and was able to hit 100hz no problem. The included displayport really is junk. I wonder how many monitors were returned because they couldnt hit 100 on because of the cable.

Next day actually. I got mine from their ebay store, had auto-refresh set up on their 30"+ page so it would be easier to notice while i'm working on other stuff. They tend to start posting new stuff around noonish on weekdays.
 
What is a recommended cable to run XB271HU? I'm only gonna run it at 144hz for now, cuz my GPU is a Kepler. Will the stock DP cable work fine?

I got my XB270HU in today and damn it's perfect. The stand has some markings on it but otherwise it's working in perfect condition.

Just a question, is it okay to run the monitor at 144 Hz even when I am not gaming? Like it won't affect the longevity of the monitor would it?

From what I know, the monitor will be fine at 144hz all the time. I heard the GPU might ramp up and down due to the high refresh rate though. Nvidia supposedly fixed this recently?
 
Is the X34 just a wider XB1 or is it taller as well? I am missing the size of my Dell 30 inch monitor I replaced :-( .
 
Picked up one of the XB280HK's from the Ebay store. Anyone have any experience with that particular monitor's arrival condition, and how good the shipping materials are?
 
I jumped on the XB1 lottery. We'll see how it goes.

Do they provide tracking numbers with orders, or do they just show up when they do?

It depends if you created an account using an email address. If you did not, you just have to wait for it to show up, but you can call or email using your order number and they can tell you if it has shipped.

At first when mine shipped I had no tracking information but roughly 2 hours after it said it shipped i got an email with the FEDEX ground tracking.
 
Alright got my XB271HU in. There was no shipping damage and I played a quick few games and all was looking well. However when I was browsing the internet thats when the dead pixels became obvious. The white backgrounds on certain websites really expose the dead pixels. They are too close to the central area for me to let it slide, so I will be requesting for another panel.

Hopefully everything goes smooth with the RMA.
