Making windows 10 lean

I just setup a dual boot for win10 and id like to trim the fat on both the disk space and resource fronts. Id like to eliminate anything thats not neccesary as well.

The sole purpose of this installation is to play a UWP game and that is all.

I've just set up a dual-boot also. 7 & 10. On 10, I only use Chrome, not Cortana, nor Edge, and have resisted the temptation to download any windows apps to reduce any possible bloat. I linked my documents/downloads to a hard drive to save space on the SSD. I'm sure there are more items to tweak.

That is a good tip, but I would recommend that Compact OS should only be done if you have an SSD. Having the OS unpacking files as needed may cripple performance on a HDD.

Other tips to reduce the size of Windows 10:

• Disable System Restore
• Disable Hibernation
• Set initial/max Page File (set Initial to 800MB, maximum equal to how much memory you have)

Make sure to reboot after implementing the page file change.

I did that on XP using NLite but I made the mistake of choosing to nuke IE too, couldn't get windows updates after that. NLite is what you want, don't know if they have a Win10 version though.
