I have no idea what this video means other than it is an announcement for an announcement that will take place on Monday, April 25th. There is a link at the end of the video to a website that says a new First-Person Shooter is being built in Ireland and I am assuming since these two are co-founders of id Software that they will both be working on it. I guess we'll have to wait until Monday.

I hope they've both learned from their mistakes in the past. I eagerly await the reviews, no matter how it turns out.

Don't think it's related to the Star Wars franchise, just a spoof of the end of "The Force Awakens" more than anything else. After the vaporware turned shitstorm turned complete waste of time that Daikatana turned out to be (aka massive mega epic hella failure) it'll be interesting to see what Romero has up his sleeves (or maybe caught up in THAT HAIR...).

But you know that even if these guys did want to make a Star Wars game there's a good chance EA would say yes. They're a publisher first and these guys have a good track record of profits.

Their old news. Newer programmers are more qualified. In their time they were trend setters. Everyone has their time.

- Dedicated servers
- Map and modding tools
- PC platform first then port to all the other toys

That would be my wish list...

Please GOD make this so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I so need a old school FPS, so I can mega kill all these whiny millennial console weenies!!!!!!!!

I'm honestly confused about this teaser. Is it hubris, self-indulgence and arrogance, or is it a public acceptance of a humbling lesson learned?

Is it just me or does John Romero really look like the bad guy from the Crow?

I feel a bit silly - always thought John Carmack and Adrian Carmack were husband and wife.

Here's hoping one of the Kickstarter rewards (if it does end up being something Kickstarter-related) is for Romero to cut his damn hair.

First, it totally looked like dude was taking a piss

Second, when their eyes met I totally expected a cut to man-on-man action

Just thinking...the first one was so bad, do you think a Daikatana 2 would actually sell, for nostalgia/shits n' gigs, plus it couldn't possibly be worse than the first one?

I did some digging on that game, and what's ironic, is that they likely could better pull off that game now than they could then.

Back then, gaming, tech, all of it was improving by leaps and bounds, and they just never could catch up.

Now, the tools are so sedentary, and the platform so stale and inactive, that they actually would have the time to take their time, and developing something they wanted to do in the first place and actually pull it off.

I did too! I learned something today from this video

I never understood what is wrong with Daikatana. I had fun with it.

Let's just wait till Monday but now that Doom is officially is ruined the only game that I am waiting for seems to be the new Shadow Warrior.

Forget the game! I want a Romero/Carmack movie now!!! :D

In any case, I'm going to keep my eye on this for sure. Could be crap, could be the future!!

Whats wrong with his hair, I thought it looked good. The car though sucked. Lets just hope for a good game, may be they will team up with Chris Roberts and get Star Citizen finished up. lol

Daikatana left such a bad taste in my mouth that it will be hard for particularly Romero to earn my trust again. I am eagerly awaiting this though as it has potential.

I had fun with it, only because one of my friends bought it for full price day one and a few others of us were laughing at it (and him) watching him play it.

This promo seems entirely too low budget for their announcement to be anything other than an episodic (insert genre, it really doesn't matter) game with overly simplistic graphics "justified" by its relatively small asking Kickstarter goal.

But hey I'm a little tiny bit pessimistic.

Romero always wants to play the rockstar when really he's just Ringo...

So like an artist who hasn't put out any game art or design interesting since he left id, and one can argue it was long in the tooth, boring, and the impetus for pretty much any game that didn't have the palette of a slaughterhouse wiht a sewage leak getting glowing reviews for their art design. Add to that a Game designer who hasn't designed anything worth playing since he left id.

Hmm, this clearly has the makings of a total winner title.

Let me know when the reunion thread happens where everyone complains how it was much shittier than it looked like it would be.

Honestly, sounds like the perfect combo to raise $100M on Kickstarter.
