Think Samsung VR. The article states that they sell phones in Europe and Asia. I know some of the readership here is from around the world.

No 6P support wtf? Instead supporting 1080p phones? Res already looks bad on 6P with a 1440p res in cardboard.

I'm interested in a cheap but decent VR experience while waiting for the higher res big boys. Never buying a Samsung phone again, so Samsung VR is out.

Why not? This gen hasn't been bad. Problems with the company itself?

Just their locked down phones on VZW. The hardware is good, but christ touchwiz is a lag fest, and not having root blows. Hardly noticed with S3 & Note II cause those were rooted with custom roms almost immediately. Suffered with the Note 4 for over a year until shutting it in a drawer and going back to the Note II.

I'm guesing this only works with Huawei phones? Sorry cant open the link (block at work).

Like the Gear VR, Huawei’s headset is powered by a high-end smartphone that slides into the front. According to Engadget, which reported live from the event, Huawei VR works with the P9, P9 Plus and Mate 8. All three of those devices feature a 1080p display, so this virtual reality experience likely won’t be as sharp as the one powered by Samsung’s Quad HD smartphones.

Ok, Thanks.

I thought Huawei was an Asia/European brand; didn't think they were available in the states. Is that the case?

They have had a presence her for a couple years and they are growing fast here in the states. I'm rather impressed with how well they have been doing.
