Doom Open Multiplayer Beta Next Week

Bethesda and id Software announced today that the open beta for DOOM will run from April 15th through April 17th, with preloads starting on April 12th. You can take part in the open beta by hitting the link and signing up. There is also a FAQ section with answers to many of your questions about the open beta.
 
I will be shocked if this is actually fun. So little faith in any game actually developing a good multiplayer these days. The no outside mods bc dlc bullshit is really turning me into a sad panda.
 
It'll probably be fun. But, it's probably not going to be any different than the other games that are just like it. What makes it different than Halo? Unreal Tournament? Quake 3 Arena? Better graphics? Ok. Not enough for me. Doom nostalgia? Close, but not until it's a full game (all DLC included) and on sale.

It could be a great game. Just from what I see, it's not giving me anything different that other games are...
 
I am looking forward to this open beta, I will dload it and play it for the few free days and anticipate that I will get my fill and be done with it as it looks like Ut and so many other games. delete and make room for the next test.
 
The multiplayer is fun, but it doesn't have any holding power as the skill gap is not very large. I can feel that it isn't developed primarily for PC and the beta lacks any advanced graphics options. This is going to be more console fodder. Probably best to wait until it's on a steam sale for the single player, which will probably be really good.
 
No Doom Game has ever been really big for multiplayer. It seems like a waste of effort to spend so much time on something that people don't care very much about.

Perhaps it's just an engine test, and a way to keep from giving too much about the SP?
 
The only "Season Pass" style DLC I have ever bought is BF3 & BF4 premium, and you can be damn sure I didn't buy them ahead of time or at full price. I'll definitely try the beta, but I don't expect this to have enough of a tight multiplayer shooter experience to really be worth what they are asking.
 
You guys beat me to the punch. I WAS super stoked for the DOOM reboot, but once I heard SP was only 17 hours I was upset.
Then they announced a total OPEN beta and I was interested, then I read they announced the first DLC the first day and now Im back to 'F' it.
Ill wait till its on steam sale for under $20 with all DLC.
Way to go Bethesda. :(
 
I miss the days when FPS games tried expanding the gameplay, not just the same old and make it prettier.
Give me naval combat, with air combat, and ground combat in the same game like we had in BF1942..
 
I am looking forward yo giving it a try. I ordered the game from Amazon a few days ago. If the multiplayer is close to Quake 3 I will be happy
 
I really wish they would stop putting shit like this in my Steam library that I don't want and never asked for.
